The Body of a Kayaker missing since Saturday was found earlier today. State Police reported that 57 year old James Jones of Louisiana was kayaking with a friend Saturday at the Whitney Point Reservoir when his boat overturned. State Police & several other agencies assisted in the search.

Governor Cuomo announced today that he will resign as Governor on August 24th. Cuomo has faced numerous allegations of sexual harassment, he said that he will step aside & let state government govern. Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul will become the state’s 1st female Governor on August 24t.

ERAP Specialist Shannon Wright will be at the Afton Library today from 12:00 to 2:00 PM to answer questions about the Emergency Rental Assistance Program, for tenants who have experienced financial hardships due to Covid 19 and owe back rent.
