Butternut Valley Alliance announced the schedule for On the Trail of Art, to be held June 13-14 at General Jacob Morris State Forest. The exhibition will be open Saturday from 11 am. to 6 pm. and Sunday from 10 am. to 4 pm. An opening reception will be held Friday, June 12, from 6 to 8 pm. at Dunderberg Gallery in Gilbertsville. Attendance is free, but reservations for an admission time are encouraged and can be made at Eventbrite. On the Trail of Art features work by student artists from Edmeston, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton, Morris, and Laurens Central schools alongside local artists with deep ties to the Butternut Valley.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced $82.2 million has been awarded through the New York State Council on the Arts’ Capital Projects Fund to support 132 projects in every region of the state. This investment in non-profit arts and cultural organizations across New York supports crucial building renovations, accessibility improvements and new spaces for creative and cultural work. Awards were given in all 10 regions of New York State, with 77 percent of the grants awarded to organizations with budgets under $3 million. A Mid-Sized Capital Improvement Grants was awarded to the Chenango County Historical Society to help replace the building’s roof with a new, historically accurate slate roof.

Governor Hochul announced that $6 million in State support included in the recently passed budget, will allow for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies to commit to a five-year lease extension at Mirabito Stadium. The new deal will see the team remain in Binghamton through the 2035 season, state money will be used for stadium improvements, it will be complemented by $1.2 million in City and team investments, and $12 million in planned City and federal investments for the stadium district enhancements.
