Governor Cuomo held a COVID briefing in Albany today, he said that the next priority group of Health care Workers will be getting the COVID vaccines next:

The Governor also released a list of Hospitals that have vaccinated the highest & lowest percentage of their COVID Vaccines, one of the lowest in the state was the AO Fox Hospital Tri-Town Campus in Sidney, and officials with Tri-Town said that they have vaccinated about 30% so far and are planning to expedite vaccinations by the end of the week.

The State Health Department reported that there were more than 134,000 COVID tests Sunday, with over 11,200 people testing positive, which was 8.25% of all tested. Hospitalizations continue to increase, up to 8251 Sunday, there were 170 deaths in the state.

Chenango County Public Health reported 176 Active COVID Cases, 8 are hospitalized, there are 563 Active Quarantines 563 & there have been 18 deaths, 1087 Recoveries and 1296 confirmed cases since the pandemic his last spring.

NYSEG crews are successfully restoring power throughout the region, following last night’s heavy wet snow. This Afternoon NYSEG reported that there were 200 Customers without power in Broome, Chenango & Otsego Counties combined, & over 600 in Delaware County were without power, about half of that was in the village of Sidney.

The Power Outage has affected Amphenol’s plant at 191 Delaware Avenue in Sidney since last night, where the 1st shift today did not have to report. Amphenol Human Resources Spokesperson Sheri Youngs explains:

Youngs said that NYSEG expects to have the power restored there by 6:00 tonight.

The Otsego County Chamber Of Commerce will hold a Virtual State of The State meeting with area lawmakers tomorrow morning at 9:00 through Zoom. The Keynote speaker will be Congressman Antonio Delgado, Other panelists will be Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig, Newly elected State Senator Peter Oberacker & Assemblyman John Salka.

Governor Cuomo updated New Yorkers on the state’s COVID-19 pandemic statistics. On Saturday, over 142,000 tests were conducted, with 11,368 positives, which was just fewer than 8% positive. Patient Hospitalization increased to 7,963, the Number of ICU patients increased to 1,344 with 815 on ventilators, there were 138 deaths.

Delaware County Public Health reported that a 14th & 15th person has died of Covid-19 related complications. There were 48 new cases Thursday through Sunday, with 3 hospitalized, 112 active cases, 214 quarantined & 752 total cases of COVID 19.

Broome County’s rapid testing site will be available at Binghamton’s Recreation Park beginning today for the next two weeks. Testing is available from 1:00 to 7: 00 PM, for those experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, registration is required at 2-1-1 or covid19screening.health.ny.gov.

State Senator Pete Oberacker took the oath of office Friday for the 51st district. The office was previously occupied by James Seward who retired at the end of 2020 after more than 30 years in the Senate.

Due to the power outage in Sidney, the Amphenol plant at 191 Delaware Avenue 1st shift employees do not have to report until 9:00 AM, Maintenance & Plating will report as normal.
