State Police and local law enforcement agencies throughout New York will be stepping up patrols to crack down on impaired driving during the holiday travel season. The enforcement campaign will run through Friday, January 1st, it is part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiative designed to reduce alcohol and drug-related traffic crashes.

The State tested over 204,000 people for the COVID virus Tuesday, with 5.8% testing positive. Governor Cuomo stated that Hospitalizations, the number of patients in ICU Beds & the number of those on Ventilators continues to increase, 164 died Tuesday from the virus.

Otsego County Department of Health urges residents to avoid Travel this holiday season as it can increase your chance of SPREADING AND GETTING COVID-19. Otsego County reported 16 new cases of COVID Wednesday, 15 are hospitalized, there are 122 Active cases & 1 death has been reported, this brings the total number of deaths to 12.

Delaware County Public Health reported 6 new COVID cases Wednesday, they still have 87 active cases, 3 are hospitalized and 325 are quarantined.

Bassett Healthcare Network received its first allocation of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine this week and vaccinated staff that works in direct patient care areas. All 5 hospitals in the network, received their initial allotment of the Moderna vaccine just ahead of Christmas, some Bassett staff traveled to Utica and Elmira to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Those who received the Pfizer vaccine will be vaccinated again 21 days later, staff who receives the Moderna vaccine will get a second dose 28 days later.
