The State Health Department announced that over 111,000 tests were administered Sunday, with 3144 positive tests, or 2.8% of all tested. 1444 people are hospitalized with just under 300 in an ICU bed & over 130 on a ventilator, 26 people died from the virus Sunday.

Chenango County Public Health continues to report increases in their number of COVID 19 cases. They are reporting 35 Active Cases, 221 Quarantines with 4 Hospitalizations & 460 Confirmed Cases. There have been 9 deaths, 403 Recoveries & over 39,000 Tests have been performed.

The Broome County Health Department added another 103 positive COVID 19 cases since Friday, giving them 3883 since March, they had 1 more death, giving them 106 since the virus hit. They have had 3460 recoveries and 4048 are being monitored by the Health Department. Their Yellow Zone positivity rate in the Southern part of the County is down to just over 3%.

Hartwick College reported 2 new cases of COVID-19 today. There are 16 active cases on campus; the total number of cases detected on campus since August 1st is 65.

The Sidney Central School District has been notified that someone has tested positive for COVID-19, the affected person has not been on campus since Thursday, October 29th. The Local Department of Health has already conducted an investigation and has notified any and all people who may have potentially been exposed. There will be no change to the instructional model as a result of the positive case. The potential exposure has been minimized because of the emphasis placed on wearing face coverings and social distancing.

Customers who anticipate the need for heating assistance should take action now to determine their eligibility and get enrolled before the cold weather sets in. Otsego County Department of Health reports 7 cases of COVID 19 over the weekend, they have had 1060 total confirmed cases, 38 active cases, and 0 hospitalized & 8 deaths. 755 cases are linked to SUNY Oneonta & 62 confirmed cases in Hartwick College students

Delaware County Public Health announced that they had 18 more cases of COVID 19 over the previous 3 days. There are 62 active cases, with 9 Hospitalized & 211 quarantined. They report 232 cases since March, with 161 recoveries & 9 deaths.

State Police arrested 49 year old Timothy Young of Oneonta for Criminal Possession of Marijuana and Driving While Intoxicated, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Reckless Driving. Troopers observed Young exit the parking garage ramp on Market Street in the city of Oneonta and make several vehicle and traffic violations. Troopers initially made a vehicle and traffic stop in the Clinton Plaza where Young stopped but then drove off toward Chestnut Street and into a parking garage. Young was taken into custody, Young was allegedly in possession of 5 pounds of marijuana, and his B.A.C was .14%. Young was processed and was remanded to the Otsego County Jail.

The Hancock Central School District will be operating remotely starting today, due to a COVID 19 positive test. The remote model will run until Friday & will be reassessed at that time.
