The case against 25 year old Cody Franciscovich will go before a Grand Jury shortly.  Franciscovich is accused of killing his 8 month old daughter Ruby & leaving the body in a pond in the town of Tioga.   Franciscovich appeared in Tioga Town Court this morning for a felony hearing, which he waived, he was returned to the Tioga County Jail without bail.

The controversy is continuing in the town of Guilford, where the group “The Concerned Neighbors of Guilford” feel that their questions & concerns are not being addressed adequately regarding the proposal by Calpine to install up to 30 large wind turbines in the town.  Group Co-Chairperson Priscilla Welden told WCDO News about the frustration after Wednesday’s Town Board Meeting:

The Primary election for Sidney Town Clerk will be held on June 25th, Polls will be open from 12:00 noon to 9:00 PM, and other Delaware County Primary elections that day are for Hancock Superintendent of Highways & A Stamford Town Council seat.

The Greene Fire Department was dispatched Thursday afternoon to County Road 32 for a 1 car motor vehicle accident with entrapment.   First Responders found 2 patients with injuries trapped in the vehicle, which were extricated, responders from the Brisben & Oxford Fire Departments assisted, and the unidentified patients were transported to an area hospital, the investigation is continuing.

Rock in the Park has moved to the Chenango County Fairgrounds both Saturday & Sunday to raise money for “The Place” in Norwich.  Several local bands will perform over the 2 days, with Headliner Thompson Square on Sunday.  Tickets are available through B&W Wines in Bainbridge or through Ticketmaster.com.  More information about camping at the site is available at 972-6526.

The Chenango County Health Department will hold a free rabies vaccination clinic for dogs, cats & ferrets Saturday.  The clinic will be held at the South Otselic Fire Station from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.

Governor Cuomo signed legislation removing non-medical exemptions from school vaccination requirements for children. The United States is currently experiencing the worst outbreak of measles in more than 25 years, with outbreaks in pockets of New York primarily driving the crisis. As a result of non-medical vaccination exemptions, many communities across New York have unacceptably low rates of vaccination; this new law will help protect the public during this ongoing outbreak.

3 people were arrested on May 8, after a reported abduction.  54 year old Anthony Davi of Davenport was arrested for Reckless Endangerment, 19 year old Cassandra Davi of Oneonta was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident.  30 year old Charles Hall of New Lisbon was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.  An investigation revealed that Cassandra Davi sent a text to her father Anthony Davi, asking for help while she was in Hall’s vehicle,  Anthony Davi called 911 he eventually located Hall’s vehicle and shot at the vehicle while on State Highway 23 in the town of Kortright and left with his daughter.  Troopers located the Hall’s vehicle, they determined that Cassandra Davi was never in need of assistance & there was no abduction, but Hall was impaired and was arrested.   All 3 were released pending future court action.

State Police arrested 34 year old Nicole Macomber of Oxford for felony Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs & Driving While Ability Impaired with a Child 15 or Under as Passenger.  Troopers were dispatched to an accident on State Route 41 in the town of Willet; they located the vehicle off the roadway, on its roof and into the porch of a residence. Macomber’s 15-year-old passenger complained of a head injury and was transported to Upstate Medical Center.  Troopers recognized Macomber as they responded to a call earlier in the night involving Macomber driving erratically on I-81; she was not impaired at that time and was released.  Troopers also learned Macomber was the suspect of an earlier hit and run on State Route 41 in Smithville.  Macomber will appear in the town of Willet court on June 26th.

State Police at Deposit arrested 23 year old Amber Pfister for felony Aggravated Driving While Impaired by Drugs with a Child 15 or Under as Passenger, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.  Troopers were dispatched to a complaint of a vehicle that drove through several yards on 2nd Street in Deposit; they located the vehicle with a blown-out tire and heavy damage to the rim.  Pfister was arraigned in the village of Deposit court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail; a 15-year-old runaway was turned over to a village of Hancock police.
