Governor Kathy Hochul joined Superintendent Steven G. James in honoring 181 new State Troopers as they graduated today from the 215th session of the Basic School of the New York State Police Academy. The ceremony was held at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany. Today’s graduation increases the State Police ranks to 5,183 sworn members. 46 of the new troopers will be assigned to Troop C in Sidney.

The State Department of Labor announced that the number of private sector jobs in the State decreased over the month by 2,900, or less than 0.1%, to 8,392,500 in September 2024. The State’s unemployment rate held constant at 4.4% in September, the statewide labor force participation rate decreased from .1 to 61.2% in September.

Village of Greene officials announced that starting at 8:30 Friday morning, the Village Department of Public Works will be paving South Chenango Street from Greene Bowlodrome to Page Street. There will be no thru traffic, when that paving project is complete, the DPW will be paving Clinton Street from Birdsall Street to the Birdsall Street bridge.

The State Police Academy 215th Graduation, will be held this morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany. 181 new Troopers will be honored for their perseverance and dedication in completing the 215th session of the Basic School of the New York State Police Academy during the graduation exercises.

34 year old Khaalid Lammie of Delhi was indicted by the Delaware County Grand Jury & was charged with 3 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance. Lammie is accused of selling cocaine in the Village of Delhi on 3 occasions earlier this year, if he is convicted, he faces up to 9 years in state prison for each count, he was arraigned in Delaware County Court Tuesday & was released on his own recognizance.

State tax receipts totaled $54.6 billion through the first 6 months of State Fiscal Year 24-25, about $682 million higher than the state Division of the Budget estimated. Tax collections were $3.1 billion higher than those through September 2023, according to the monthly State Cash Report released by State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli.
