State Police will step up efforts to combat speeding and impaired driving during Columbus Day Weekend. The Speed and Impaired Driving Enforcement Initiative aims to reduce the number of incidents caused by dangerous driving behaviors like Speeding, driving impaired by alcohol and/or drugs, which accounts from about 1/3 of all fatal crashes. State Police remind motorists to Obey the speed limit, designate a sober driver, or plan for a ride share to get home safely, always wear seat-belts and do not drive distracted.

Choroideremia is a degenerative eye disease, and a local fundraiser will be held in Sidney On November 2nd called Dining in The Dark, Christopher Dean of Sidney suffers from the disease & he told WCDO News about the disease & the fundraiser:

Oneonta City Officials announced that starting today, Norfolk Southern Railroad crews will be rehabilitating the railroad interface at the Delaware Avenue railroad crossing. Norfolk Southern will be implementing a road detour for Delaware Avenue while work is taking place. Donations are still being accepted for flood affected residents in North Carolina, following Hurricane Helene. Dry Goods & Non Perishable items can be brought to a tractor Trailer parked behind Bob’s Diner in Bainbridge through Friday, then the Tractor trailer will head south to Boone North Carolina.
