The American cancer society is hosting their annual \u201cPaint The Town Purple day\u201d today throughout the Tri-Town Area.\u00a0 Cancer society spokesperson Helen Gregory explains:<\/p>\n

The annual tri-town relay for life will be held May 3rd<\/sup> & 4th<\/sup> at General Clinton Park in Bainbridge, Gregory said that last year\u2019s efforts raised about $100,000 dollars for the cancer society\u2019s local efforts.<\/p>\n

The Chenango County Sheriff\u2019s Office arrested 35-year-old Kevin Urgo of McDonough for Felony Driving While Intoxicated, Felony Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.\u00a0\u00a0 Urgo was found by Sheriff\u2019s Deputies stopped in the middle of a roadway, he was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $1000 cash bail.\u00a0 Urgo is to appear in the Town of Preston Court on a later date.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Chenango County Sheriff\u2019s Office arrested 27 year old Matthew Towndrow of Preston on an active arrest warrant issued of the Town of North Norwich Court for resisting arrest on April 16th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Towndrow was arraigned in the Town of North Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5000 bail and is scheduled re-appear in the Town of North Norwich Court at a later date.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tomorrow from 10:00am to 2:00pm, the Norwich Police Department will be accepting unwanted, unused or outdated prescription medications at the rear of the Police Station located at 18 East Main Street, as part of the national \u201cTake Back\u201d initiative.\u00a0\u00a0 The Chenango County Sheriff\u2019s Office will also participate with collections at the Sheriff\u2019s Office Sub-Station at the Coventry Town Hall on State Route 235, and at the North Norwich fire Station on State Route 12, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM Saturday.<\/p>\n
