Firefighters from Sidney, Wells Bridge & Unadilla responded, at about 8:30 this morning to the report of a structure fire at the County Motel on State Route 7. The fire was largely contained to the a room at the east end of the motel structure & was under control by about 9:30, the investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing, 1 person was taken to the hospital for treatment, Sidney Fire Fighters also had to respond to a Chimney Fire this morning on Pleasant Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of COVID Hospitalizations statewide is 3,567; the Lowest number of Hospitalizations since November 29, 2020. There were 811 Patients in the ICU; Lowest ICU Patients Since December 3, 2020 & 499 on ventilators, there 45 COVID-19 Deaths in the State Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chenango County Public Health reported 13 new COVID cases today, bringing their total to 3138. The number of Active Cases is 120, there are 599 Active Quarantines & 9 Hospitalized there have been 2855 Recoveries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A covid vaccination CLINIC for Veterans, & their spouses, will be held tomorrow from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Bainbridge. The clinic will be held at VA Outpatient Clinic at 109 North Main Street, more information or registration is available at 967-8590, option 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sidney United Way, Catholic Charities & other organizations announced that 77 Volunteers unloaded thousands of pounds in food, during the Community Mass Food Giveaway Tuesday in Sidney. 486 Households which included 1414 People received the food at the back of the River Street Fire Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Otsego County Department of Health will be holding a first dose only vaccination clinic on April 29th at the Meadows Complex in Cooperstown. Governor Cuomo announced today that People ages 60 and older in New York state don’t have to make COVID vaccine appointments anymore. The Governor announced that that age group can walk into any mass vaccination site starting Friday and get a shot, the closest site will be at SUNY Binghamton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delaware County Public Health reported 5 new Covid 19 Cases Wednesday out of 468 tested, or 1% of all tested. Delaware County had 99 active cases, 13 hospitalized & 228 quarantined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
