NEWS FRIDAY 4-19-13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New York State yogurt processors were the top producers with 692 million pounds of yogurt in 2012, beating out California by more than 100 million pounds.\u00a0 The increases production follows Governor Cuomo\u2019s Yogurt Summit last year, where regulations will lifted on May 8<sup>th<\/sup> to help New York Dairy farms with 200 to 299 mature dairy cows.\u00a0 The new regulations can be found on DEC&#8217;s website at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dec.ny.gov\/regulations\/87499.html%5B1\">dec.ny.gov\/regulations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>State Senator Jim Seward announced passage of legislation to create a new website: ResultsNY.gov.\u00a0 Seward explains the purpose of the site:<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>(Seward 4-19-13)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Seward said that the proposed website is patterned after the federal Office of Management and Budget&#8217;s ExpectMore.gov website. The bill will be sent to the assembly for consideration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Delaware County District Attorney Investigators issued a criminal summons to 40-year-old Jessica VanAlstyne of Delhi for 1<sup>st<\/sup> degree Offering a False Instrument for Filing and 5<sup>th<\/sup> degree Welfare Fraud.\u00a0 VanAlstyne is accused of offering a document to the Department of Social Services with false information, and that she received an overpayment of $412 in benefits as the direct result of failing to provide her entire income.\u00a0 VanAlstyne was taken into custody turned over to the State Police on unrelated charges.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>State Troopers in Oneonta arrested\u00a031-year-old <strong>Kristen Lawrence<\/strong> of Hamilton for Driving While Intoxicated.\u00a0 The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on State Route 23 in Morris; Lawrence was issued tickets returnable in the Town of Morris Court.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>State Police at Sidney arrested\u00a024 <strong>Blake Pifer <\/strong>\u00a0of Columbus \u00a0for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on I-88 in Sidney. \u00a0Pifer was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Sidney on January 12, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>Governor Cuomo unveiled a new &#8220;utility scorecard&#8221; to hold utilities accountable for power restorations after a significant outage using a quantitative assessment of electric utility performance, as part of the State&#8217;s efforts for more aggressive review and evaluation of utilities following Super storm Sandy. The proposed scorecard will be issued by the Public Service Commission for public review and comment to ensure the performance metrics are the most comprehensive and effective.\u00a0 The scorecard follows last year\u2019s response time by several utilities after the hurricane, which the governor took issue with.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Delaware County District Attorney Investigators and New York State Parole arrested John Tubbs Jr. of Walton on a warrant issued by New York State Division of Parole. Tubbs is a level 3-sex offender; he was turned over to the Delaware County Correctional Facility pending further action by Division of Parole.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>Students entering grades 8 and 9 this fall will have the opportunity to spend two days in M.A.S.H. Camp, August 13<sup>th<\/sup> &amp; 14<sup>th<\/sup> at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.\u00a0 \u00a0The 2-day M.A.S.H. Camp will showcase a variety of health care careers through hands-on workshops for students, Space is limited to 20 students &amp; The deadline for applying is Friday, May 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.
