NEWS TUESDAY 12-15-20<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 1st big winter storm of the season is heading this way late Wednesday in Thursday, Local Meteorologist Rich Townsend explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Townsend 12-15-20)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Weather service has a Winter Storm Watch in Place from 3:00 PM Wednesday through 10:00 AM Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo said that Hospitalizations could approximately double in one month if the current rate of growth continues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Cuomo 12-15-20)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Governor said that the fall and winter surge could lead to 11,000 people hospitalized with COVID and 3,500 additional fatalities in a month if the current rate continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Broome County Health Department reported another 116 positive COVID 19 cases today, they reported no deaths, they have had 154 so far.&nbsp; There are 5610 recoveries &amp; almost 4700 are being monitored by the Broome Health Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chenango County Public Health reported 2 more deaths today from COVID-19.&nbsp; The County reports 130 active cases, 8 active hospitalizations, 552 quarantines, there were 12 more positive cases, bringing the county total to 880. There have been 714 recoveries, 16 total deaths &amp; over 50,000 tests have been performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Town of Sidney will be holding a Special Meeting and receive public comments and act on the proposed Annexation request from the Village of Sidney for 2 parcels totaling 5.6 acres along County Route 4 in Sidney.&nbsp; The meeting will take place on Monday December 28th at 7:00 p.m. at 44 Grand Street in Sidney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cooperstown Central School District announced today that they will go to all remote learning until January 19th.&nbsp; The district reported 1 new COVID 19 case, and a rising number of close contacts to that case, as the reason to go to remote learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Otsego County Board of representatives approved of a measure to add to the staff of the County Health Department.&nbsp; The Health Department continues to respond to the rising number of COVID 19 cases, at least 3 more health professionals will be added to the staff for the fight against the ongoing pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A.M. NEWS TUESDAY 12-15-20<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo directed state agencies to prepare emergency response assets as a coastal storm system is expected to bring heavy snow &amp; strong winds beginning Wednesday afternoon and continuing into Thursday morning.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The track of the storm is still developing, early forecasts and models show it has the potential to deliver 7 to 12 inches of snow and sleet across the New York City, Long Island, Southern Tier and the Mid-Hudson Regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otsego County Department of Health reported 11 new COVID 19 cases, 17 are hospitalized &amp; they report another death, giving them 9 since the spring.&nbsp; Otsego County has had 1597 total confirmed cases, with 146 active cases, 840 of the cases come from the Oneonta colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Public Health announced that there were 16 positive new cases of COVID 19 Monday there were 99 active cases, 4 are hospitalized, 384 are quarantined, and Delaware County has had 528 total cases with 420 recoveries &amp; 9 deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>P.M.
