NEWS WEDNESDAY 10-21-20<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras visited SUNY Binghamton today, as that campus will re-open tomorrow after a 2 week pause following a high positivity rate for COVID 19:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Jim Malatras 10-21-20)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Malatras said that the campus had a positivity rate of more than 4% on October 6th; the most recent testing was .1% at the Binghamton campus yesterday with 1 positive test out of 787.&nbsp; More information is available at binghamton.edu\/restarting-binghamton\/covid-19-dashboard.html<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo announced that the state tested over 124,000 people for COVID 19 Tuesday, with 2026 people testing positive.&nbsp; 950 are hospitalized across the state for the virus, 201 are in ICU Beds &amp; 103 on Ventilators, 7 died from the virus Tuesday, and the state death toll is 25,679.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chenango County Public Health had another 18 positive tests for COVID 19, bringing their total to 331.&nbsp; There are 48 Active Cases, 224 Active Quarantines with 4 Hospitalizations,&nbsp; They also report 248 Total Recoveries, 7 deaths and over 33,900 Total Tests have been Performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Broome County Health Department reports 132 more COVID 19 positive cases over the last 2 days, bringing their total to 2957.&nbsp; They are up to 88 deaths, 2270 recoveries and over 4400 people are binging monitored by the Health Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed 3 narcotics search warrants in Port Crane, Binghamton, and a U-Haul storage unit in the Village of Johnson City Friday night.&nbsp; Investigators arrested 32 year old Worth Brown of Binghamton and 37 year old Amy Nieves of Port Crane, on a variety of drug charges, Police seized $27,000 worth of fentanyl &amp; $78,000 in cash from suspected drug sales, along with a loaded handgun, ammunition, cocaine, Digital scales and drug packaging materials, Brown &amp; Nieves were remanded to the Broome County jail to await further court proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A.M. NEWS Wednesday 10-21-20<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce announced that a State Senate District 51 event, featuring candidates Jim Barber and Peter Oberacker will be held today starting at 12:00 noon and a State Senate District 42 forum, featuring candidates Jen Metzger and Mike Martucci will be held tomorrow starting at 10:00 am.
