{"id":7614,"date":"2020-04-02T15:19:29","date_gmt":"2020-04-02T19:19:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=7614"},"modified":"2020-04-02T16:07:07","modified_gmt":"2020-04-02T20:07:07","slug":"wcdo-news-thursday-4-2-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-thursday-4-2-20\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS THURSDAY 4-2-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo announced today that the state has 92,381\ncases of the Coronavirus, 13,383 hospitalized, 3396 of those are in ICU beds,\nover 7400 have recovered &amp; the Death Toll is 2373.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo said that as a Governor he cannot order a\ncompany to begin manufacturing items that health care professionals need to\nbattle the Coronavirus, he did implore businesses to contact the state to find\nout how they can go about it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Cuomo businesses)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Governor also said that while the epicenter is\ndownstate, all rural upstate Counties all have at least 1 Coronavirus positive\ncase, and that does not bode well for the rest of the country:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Cuomo Upstate)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuomo said that the latest models suggest that the apex of\ncoronavirus cases could happen within 7 to 30 days, depending on the success of\nsocial distancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chenango County Health Department announced today that they\nhave positive 32 cases of the coronavirus.&nbsp;\n99 people are in Precautionary Quarantine, there are 200 people in\nMandatory Quarantine,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Wednesday afternoon, members of the Delaware County\nSheriff\u2019s Office, Franklin 1st responders were dispatched to a single vehicle\nroll-over accident, involving serious personal injury, on Dunk Hill Road in the\nTown of Franklin.&nbsp; The driver, 41 year old\nMatthew Baxter of Franklin was entrapped and partially ejected from the\nvehicle.&nbsp; Life Net helicopter air-lifted\nBaxter to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, a dog riding in the truck\nwas not injured.&nbsp; The Investigation\nrevealed that Baxter lost control, struck a culvert, became airborne and\nover-tuned before striking a tree with the roof of the vehicle, preliminary\ninvestigation indicates excessive speed was a contributing factor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Village of Sidney police Department announced today,\nthat the village has closed all public playgrounds and basketball courts. They\nwill remain closed until further notice<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The City of Oneonta announced that they will begin yard\nwaste and brush curbside pickups on April 13th.&nbsp;\nPickups in Oneonta&#8217;s First through Fourth Wards will start on the 13th,\nPickup in the Fifth through Eighth Wards will begin April 20th.&nbsp; More information is available at 432-2100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The State budget for the 2020-2021 fiscal year is getting\nwrapped up, State Budget Director Robert Mujica said that the state will lose\n10 billion dollars in revenue between now &amp; July 15th, due to the virtual\nshutdown of the state, and the push back of filing state taxes until July 15th,\nall due to the Coronavirus.&nbsp; The budget\nshortfall is expected to be about 15 billion dollars in the new budget, the\nstate does have some money in reserve to deal with it &amp; it will be\nrevisited in the month ahead after the number of Coronavirus cases decreases to\nmanageable levels &amp; non-essential workers can go back to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The State Department of Labor\nannounced that 369,025 initial Unemployment Insurance claims were filed for the\nweek ending March 28th, an increase of 288,516 claims from the 80,509 claims\nthat were filed the previous week. Compared to last year, initial claims for\nUnemployment Insurance increased by 2,674%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Police Superintendent Keith Corlett announced the\nState Police have launched a new recruiting effort to attract the best and\nbrightest qualified candidates to join The State Police. The State Police will\nbe holding a new Trooper entrance examination this fall. Online applications\nare now being accepted, to apply, candidates can visit joinstatepolice.ny.gov\nand apply online, they can text JoinNYSP to (518) 240-3959, or call\n1-866-NYSP-EXAM. The exams will be held in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delaware County has had its first death from the coronavirus, the deceased had been hospitalized with the disease and died Wednesday.
