{"id":7603,"date":"2020-03-27T15:34:45","date_gmt":"2020-03-27T19:34:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=7603"},"modified":"2020-03-27T15:34:45","modified_gmt":"2020-03-27T19:34:45","slug":"wcdo-news-friday-3-27-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-friday-3-27-20\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS FRIDAY 3-27-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo announced that the state now has over 44,000\npositive cases of the Corona Virus, &amp; the work is continuing to increase\nHospital Capacity before the expected apex of cases in the next 3 weeks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Cuomo 3-27-20)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuomo said that over 6400 people are hospitalized, 519 have\ndied, 1583 are in ICU beds with Ventilators, &amp; 2045 have been discharged\nfrom hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U.S. Senator Charles Schumer and U.S. Congressman Anthony\nBrindisi announced millions for the 22nd Congressional District communities as\npart of the recently announced Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security\nAct.&nbsp; Brindisi secured more than $30\nmillion for Upstate New York counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Public Health received a laboratory\nconfirmed positive COVID-19 report. The total number of confirmed cases in\nDelaware County is 6.&nbsp; The investigations\nare ongoing and all contacts are being notified and quarantined. The first\nindividual to test positive is fully recovered and no longer in isolation. 2\ncases are recovering safely while isolating at home in Delaware County, 3 cases\nare isolated and receiving medical care in a hospital, there are 13 people\nunder mandatory quarantine and 5 people under precautionary quarantine. There\nhave been 101 people tested in Delaware County so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chenango County Health Department reported that they\nhave 4 positive cases of the corona virus.&nbsp;\n94 people are on precautionary quarantine, 53 are in mandatory\nquarantine in Chenango County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Otsego County Health Department announced today that\nthey are up to 6 Cases of COVID 19.&nbsp;\nEvery case is promptly investigated and close contacts have been\nnotified. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Broome County Health Department announced today that\nthey have 17 positive Coronavirus tests, 3 people have died, 46 are in\nPrecautionary Quarantine and 123 are in mandatory Quarantine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Police responded Thursday to County Road 18 in the\ntown of Morris for a personal injury accident.&nbsp;\nThe investigation revealed that a male was operating a lawn tractor\nsouthbound on the western shoulder of County Road 18; he failed to observe that\na Chevrolet Malibu also traveling southbound on the roadway when he turned left\nin front of the Malibu\u2019s path while attempting to enter a driveway.&nbsp; The female driver of the Malibu was unable to\navoid the male on the lawn tractor; he was transported to Chenango Memorial\nHospital with injuries to his head and face.&nbsp;\nThe driver of the Malibu was not injured.&nbsp;&nbsp; The accident remains under investigation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bainbridge-Guilford Central School District Board of\nEducation meeting scheduled for April 2nd has been cancelled, due to the COVID\n19 pandemic &amp; social distancing requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo announced today that All State Public Schools\nwill remain closed through at least April 15th, due to the Corona Virus\nPandemic; he said that it is more than likely that the schools will stayed\nclosed well beyond that date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The State Police announced that there is no travel ban in\nNew York State at this time.&nbsp; State\nTroopers have received numerous inquiries to their offices around the state;\nthe department does urge people to stay home and travel only if necessary, and\nto make sure to practice social distancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the past five days, Bassett Healthcare Network\npractitioners have completed more than 1,000 telemedicine visits with patients.\nBy next week, nearly all Bassett Healthcare providers will have the ability to\ncomplete a patient appointment by a video or phone visit as Bassett fast-tracks\nthe expansion of its telemedicine program during the COVID-19 pandemic.&nbsp;
