{"id":7596,"date":"2020-03-24T14:59:37","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T18:59:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=7596"},"modified":"2020-03-24T14:59:37","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T18:59:37","slug":"wcdo-news-tuesday-3-24-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-tuesday-3-24-20\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS TUESDAY 3-24-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New York State has 210 deaths &amp; over 25,600 confirmed\ncases of the Corona Virus, &amp; the latest projections suggest that the\nhighest number of cases will not hit for another 2 to 3 weeks, according to\nGovernor Cuomo this morning:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Cuomo 3-24-20)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuomo said that the state normally has 50,000 hospital beds\nwith about 3,000 ICU Beds with ventilators, which falls far short of the\nprojections.&nbsp; Cuomo is asking the federal\nGovernment to enact the Federal Defense Production Act to mandate manufacturers\nretrofit to make the needed equipment by hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Village of Sidney offices are still open, but because of\nthe Governor&#8217;s Executive they are not accepting foot traffic at this time due\nto the Coronavirus issue, Sidney Village Mayor Andy Matviak comments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Andy Matviak 3-24-20)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mayor Matviak said that the Village Board meetings will\ncontinue to be closed to the public, but will be streamed live to the village&#8217;s\nFacebook page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Public Health received a laboratory\nconfirmed positive COVID-19 report today. Delaware County Public Health is\nactively conducting a contact investigation.&nbsp;\nThis is the 3rd case in Delaware County so far. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AO Fox Hospital&#8217;s Tri Town Campus will be the site of\nanother Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday.&nbsp;\nThe Blood Drive will be held from 1:30 to 5:30 PM, Appointments must be\nmade at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-red cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s\nDeputies responded to a 1 car property damage accident on Harvard Road in the\nTown of Hancock, Deputies arrested 58 year-old Diane Marcellino of Florida,\nwith driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, leaving the\nscene of a motor vehicle accident, plus several other charges, Marcellino was\nissued traffic summonses and was released pending her appearance in the Town of\nHancock Court on a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo announced that today, testing will begin with\nanti-Malaria Drugs for the most severe cases of the Coronavirus, to see if they\ncan help slow down the spread of the virus across the state &amp; national:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Cuomo 3-24-20)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The state now has well over 20,000 case of the corona virus,\nthe most by far of any state;
