Republican\nCongressional candidate George Phillips is challenging Republican former Congresswoman\nClaudia Tenney to a debate, prior to the primaries.  Both are seeking the Republican nomination to\nface off against current Democratic Congressman Anthony Brindisi, who defeated Tenney\nin the last election after Tenney served only 1 term.  Tenney has the support of President Trump.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hartwick\nCollege President Margaret Drugovich was elected vice-chair of the Commission\non Independent Colleges and Universities, at the latest CICU board\nmeeting.  Drugovich takes over after\nserving as CICU treasurer and chair of its Finance and Administrative\nCommittee. Orlando\nTercero is seeking to serve a shorter sentence & is expected in court today\nin his home country of Nicaragua, he was convicted of the murder of Binghamton\nUniversity student Haley Anderson in her downtown apartment, and he then fled\nthe area & went back to Nicaragua.   \nTercero was found guilty of killing Anderson in November 2019 in\nNicaragua, and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A\nMontana man was sentenced recently to 110 years in prison, for killing a former\nSidney High School Graduate & Disabled veteran in Great Falls Montana, and\nconspiring with his wife to steal his benefits. \n25 year old Brandon Craft pleaded guilty in November for the 2016 murder\nof Adam Petzack, and for burying his body in his barn, his ex-wife Katelyn Zdeb\nwill serve 20 years in connection with stealing the VA benefits.   Petzack grew up in this area prior to going\ninto the military.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor\nCuomo announced the state will provide alcohol-based hand sanitizer to New\nYorkers free of charge, to prevent price-gouging and ensure New Yorkers have\naccess to this prevention method.  The\nstate will produce up to 100,000 gallons of hand sanitizer each week in various\nsizes and distribution will be prioritized by the most impacted and high risk\ncommunities and state agencies.  Governor\nCuomo also confirmed 37 additional cases of coronavirus, bringing the statewide\ntotal to 142 confirmed cases.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An\nOtsego County Court jury has found Kimberly Steeley of East Worcester not\nguilty of causing the deaths of her infant twins.   The jury finished deliberating Monday;\nSteeley was originally charged with two counts of 2nd-degree manslaughter for\nthe June 2018 deaths of infant twins 11 days apart, both of asphyxiation. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
