Governor Cuomo said the Albany\nJewish Community Center was evacuated and searched Sunday morning after it and\nseveral other centers around the country received anonymous emailed\nthreats. Police evacuated about 100\npeople, searched the building and declared it safe, similar threats were\nemailed to 18 other Jewish Community Centers around the country. The FBI is investigating. There have been 42 anti-Semitic incidents\naround the state since the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Cuomo is reportedly\nback-pedaling on the controversial Bail Reform Laws, as more & more people\nare being released without bail & committing crimes shortly after leaving\nthe court house, Assemblyman Cliff Crouch said that he hopes that the issue\ngets corrected:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senate Leader Andrea Stewart\nCousins also said recently that the Bail Reform laws need to be discussed and\nmore violent crimes need to be removed from the law to give judges the ability\nto remand dangerous people to jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Broome County District\nAttorney Michael Korchak says 49-year-old Bilal Flynn of Endicott has been\nconvicted of 7 counts of criminally possession of a controlled substance plus\ncriminally using drug paraphernalia. \nKorchak said that Flynn was a major drug dealer in the southern tier,\nPolice seized powder cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, drug packaging materials\nand digital scales from Flynn at the time of his arrest in June 2019 by the\nBroome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force and indicted by a grand\njury in August 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, a jury convicted Lawrence Faucett of Ulster,\nPennsylvania for criminally negligent homicide in the death of State DOT worker\nDennis Howe in March of 2019. Howe was\nkilled when his parked advance warning vehicle was struck on the shoulder of\nState Route 17 by Faucett, who was driving a tractor-trailer & did not\ncomply with New York’s Move Over law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Cuomo launched a new campaign to ban all flavored\nnicotine vaping products, including menthol flavors, and to restrict vaping\nadvertisements aimed at youth. The proposed legislation would authorize the\nState Department of Health to regulate the sale of vaping product carrier oils\ndeemed to be a public health risk & prohibit the online, phone and mail\norder sale of e-cigarettes; only registered retailers would be allowed to\npurchase e-cigarettes using those methods.
