NY State of Health is encouraging New Yorkers who need\nhealth coverage to enroll in a 2020 Qualified Health Plan by this Friday,\nFebruary 7th<\/sup>, as the Open Enrollment deadline was extended an\nadditional week to give consumers more time to find the health plan that fits\ntheir needs and enroll in coverage.   Enrollment through NY State of Health is at\nits highest point, with more than 4.8 million New Yorkers enrolled in a health\nplan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

State Senator Jim Seward has given his endorsement to\nRepublican Assembly Candidate Joe Angelino of Norwich today.  Angelino is the former Norwich Police Chief\nwho announced his candidacy for the State Assembly seat held by Cliff Crouch,\nwho announced that he will not seek re-election this year.  Angelino faces a Republican Challenger, Nick\nLibous of Binghamton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Smart Recovery program for local people dealing with\nsubstance abuse issues,  has recently started\nin Bainbridge, Program Director Aletha Cannistra explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Cuomo announced an update on the status of testing\nfor the coronavirus in New York State. \nSamples from 17 New Yorkers have been sent to the CDC for testing, 11\nhave come back negative, and 6 samples are pending. There are still no\nconfirmed cases of coronavirus in New York State yet.  A hotline has been set up for New Yorkers to\ncall at 1-888-364-3065, where experts from the Department of Health can answer\nquestions, they also created a website:\nhealth.ny.gov\/diseases\/communicable\/coronavirus. . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
