State Police will partner with local\nlaw enforcement agencies statewide to crack down on impaired and reckless\ndriving during Super Bowl weekend. The STOP-DWI campaign will include underage\ndrinking enforcement, along with increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints to\ndeter identify, and arrest impaired drivers. The enforcement initiative runs\nfrom Saturday through Monday.  During the\n2019 Super Bowl campaign, State Police arrested 139 people for impaired driving\nand issued 7,891 tickets.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

33 year old Gabriel Truitt of Oneonta\nhas been found guilty for 1st-degree arson, 1st-degree and 2nd-degree murder,\nin Otsego County Court Thursday.   Truitt\nwas accused of setting fire to a house on 5 Walling Avenue in Oneonta in\nDecember 2018, former Oneonta firefighter John Heller died trying to get his\nfamily out of the burning building.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

State and local health departments\nand healthcare partners are remaining vigilant and have a high state of\nreadiness to protect New Yorkers from novel coronavirus. Officials advise New\nYorkers of the ongoing risk for seasonal flu and take recommended precautions\nto prevent both, the State Department of Health has sent samples from 11\nindividuals to the CDC for testing for the coronavirus, with 7 found to be\nnegative and 4 more still pending. Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies\narrested 34-Year-Old Jimmy Canfield of Scotia on an Arrest Warrant issued by\nthe Town of Sidney Court for Aggravated Harassment.  It is alleged that Canfield communicated via\nelectronic means a threat to cause physical harm, or unlawful harm to the\nproperty of another, he was arraigned in the Town of Sidney Court and released\non his own recognizance & is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Sidney\nCourt at a later date.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies\nresponded to a report of a disabled vehicle on NYC Road 9 in the Town of Andes.\nA license check of the operator 46 year old Adam Gilbert of Flemington, NJ\nindicated a total of 7 revocations in the State of New York. Gilbert was issued\na ticket for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation & is scheduled to appear in\nthe Town of Andes Court at a later date.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
