State Police responded Wednesday afternoon to the report of\na burglary in progress at a home on State Route 8 in the town of Deposit near\nMichigan Hollow Road. State police\nencountered 34 year old Clint Stevens of Binghamton, who claimed to be high on\nmethamphetamines, he shot at troopers shortly after their arrival, they\nrequested & received back up, and negotiations with Stevens went on for\nseveral hours, with Stevens shooting additional Meth into his system &\ndamaging windows of the home, which belonged to his parents. After several hours, Stevens fire at troopers\nagain, who returned fire, & he was killed. \nState Route 8 was closed during the standoff and for the investigation\nuntil earlier this morning, the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lawmakers are waiting for some action on any of the proposal\nregarding the controversial Bail Reform Law that went into effect January 1st,\nAssemblyman Cliff Crouch comments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controversial law went into effect as part of a budget\nbill last year, it calls for people arrested on over 400 charges to be\nautomatically released from the initial court appearance on an appearance\nticket, several instances have already occurred where someone was released\n& almost immediately committed another crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jury deliberations are scheduled to begin today in the trial\nof 33 year old Gabriel Pruitt of Oneonta. \nPruitt is charged with Arson & Murder in connection with a fire at 5\nwalling Avenue on December 29th of 2018, former Oneonta Firefighter John Heller\ndied while getting his family out of the burning building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lawsuit has been filed in\nState Supreme Court against the Town Of Guilford, for their controversial\nrenewable energy law, that would allow Calpine to erect up to 30 large wind\nturbines in the town. Governor Cuomo announced legislation in the proposed\nExecutive Budget that grants the State Police Superintendent the right to issue\nadministrative subpoenas as a way empower the State Police to investigate\ninternet crimes against children. This new power will enable the State Police\nto move quickly to identify and locate persons suspected of online sexual\nexploitation of minors by streamlining the subpoena process necessary to obtain\ntheir online records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies arrested 22-Year-Old\nSiara Mettler of Hamden on a charge of Aggravated Unlicensed Operator,\nUnlicensed Operator, and Uninspected Motor Vehicle.
