Last week, 1,839 laboratory confirmed influenza cases were\nreported to the State Health Department a 60% increase from the previous week.&nbsp; There have been almost 5,000 laboratory\nconfirmed cases reported to the Department this flu season, with 1,040\nflu-related hospitalizations and one flu-associated pediatric death reported. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former Delhi Village Clerk Michele Barnes pleaded guilty on\nThursday after pocketing $4,788 in public funds for her personal use, following\nan audit and investigation by State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli&#8217;s office.&nbsp; Barnes issued 4 checks to herself from\nDecember 2017 to October 2018. She pleaded guilty to petty larceny and agreed\nto pay full restitution plus $500 to cover the village of Delhi&#8217;s insurance\ndeductible in lieu of 3 years&#8217; probation plus 1 year conditional\ndischarge.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo has signed \u201cGio\u2019s\nBill\u201d named after a 14 year old Giovanni Cipriano of Long island, &nbsp;the new bill will allow police officers and\nfirefighters to administer Epinephrine auto-injectors to individuals\nexperiencing severe allergic reactions.&nbsp;\nCipriano died in October of 2013 from an allergic reaction after eating\na peanut product, and suffered a severe anaphylactic attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Police arrested 33 year old Thomas Shaw of Franklin\nfor Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, after a trooper was dispatched to\na report of an overturned vehicle on State Highway 357 in the town of\nFranklin.&nbsp; Minutes before the crash,\nmultiple citizens had contacted 911 reporting an erratic driver.&nbsp; Shaw was transported to Bassett Medical\nCenter; he was later arrested and issued appearance tickets to the town of\nFranklin court. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chenango Arts Council announced the return of Illusionist\nJason Bishop at the Martin W.
