The\nenforcement campaign will run through Wednesday, January 1 &amp; it is part of\nthe national &#8220;Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over&#8221; initiative.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; During the 2018 enforcement campaign, law\nenforcement throughout the state arrested 4,142 people for impaired driving and\nissued 144,197 tickets for other vehicle and traffic law violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor\nCuomo signed legislation to ensure absentee ballots match ballots used to vote\non Election Day, and that the new simplified absentee ballot applications\ncreated in 2010 are used in school district elections.&nbsp;&nbsp; The New Bill follows earlier legislation\nexpediting party enrollment changes to make it easier for voters to participate\nin primary elections; it removed the October 11<sup>th<\/sup> deadline and gives\nvoters until February 14<sup>th<\/sup> to make changes to party enrollment and\nstill vote in the April presidential and June congressional and state\nprimaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oneonta\nPolice &amp; Firefighters rescued an unidentified woman from the spillway near\nOneonta Creek Tuesday afternoon, in an apparent suicide attempt.&nbsp; The 34 year old woman was pulled from the\nwater and taken to AO Fox Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State\nSenator Fred Akshar &amp; Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo are sponsoring the Demos\nFord Act, named after a Binghamton Boy suffering from Lyme disease.&nbsp; The Act would establish specific guidelines\nand protocols for healthcare providers in the proper diagnosis and treatment of\nLyme disease &amp; other tick borne illnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents\nin the towns of Sanford &amp; Windsor are banding together to try to stop\nCalpine from placing 25 wind turbines in their towns.&nbsp; The town of Sanford board has passed new\nrestrictions to limit the distance turbines can be placed from personal\nproperty, and for the noise frequencies that they may produce.&nbsp; Calpine is the same company that is also\ntrying to build a similar amount of wind turbines in the town of Guilford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nOtsego County Fair is hosting their 1st Annual Holiday of Lights at the\nFairgrounds in Morris this Thursday, Friday &amp; Saturday Nights.&nbsp; Fair President Joe Kolka explains<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Joe\nKolka 12-11-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kolka\nsaid that the event will begin at about 5:00 PM each night; more information is\navailable at 287-1325.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor\nCuomo signed legislation establishing a regulatory framework for the production\nand sale of hemp and hemp extract.
