Orlando Tercero has been sentenced to 30 years in prison in\na Nicaraguan court room this morning, for the 2018 Murder of Binghamton\nUniversity Student Hailey Anderson in Binghamton. Tercero was found guilty earlier this month\non a charge of “Femicide” after he killed Hailey Anderson in his\nBinghamton apartment & fled back to his home country to avoid arrest & prosecution\nin the US. Tercero was tried in his home\ncountry for the Binghamton murder & faces the maximum term in jail for that\ncrime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wilfredo Pica-Torres was sentenced to 70 years to life in\nprison today in Broome County Court. A\njury found Pica-Torres guilty in August for 2nd degree murder, attempted murder\nand arson, in connection with an attack in February in Binghamton that left\n61-year-old Victor Banayan dead and 27-year-old Heather Stroup severely\ninjured, following the attacks, Pica-Torres set the structure on fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3rd<\/sup> quarter local sales tax collections in New\nYork state totaled $4.8 billion, an increase of 6.3% over the same period last\nyear, according to a report released today by State Comptroller Tom\nDiNapoli.
