There is ample\nopposition to Governor Cuomo\u2019s bail elimination reforms that are scheduled to\ntake effect on January 1st.  Local\nAssemblyman Cliff Crouch explained the issue to WCDO News:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crouch said that\nCuomo’s reforms would allow hundreds of defendants accused of\n“non-violent\u201d offenses to be released prior to their trial date, some of\ncrimes that are included are criminal sale of a controlled substance, 2nd\nDegree Manslaughter, failure to register as a sex offender, Domestic violence\nand aggravated cruelty to animals.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Delaware County\nChamber of Commerce will co-host the “Hiring Our Heroes Veterans Business\nResource Fair” will be held Thursday in Sidney.  Chamber President Ray Pucci comments:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Job Fair will run from 1:00 to 3:30 pm Thursday at the Sidney\nAmerican Legion at 22 Union Street in Sidney. \nThe event is co-sponsored by the State Department of Labor, The Delaware\nCounty Veterans Service Agency as well as the Delaware County Chamber of\nCommerce. Also, Community Bank NA announced that they will be on hand donating\nGreen Light Bulbs, while supplies last, in support of all Veterans. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commerce Chenango’s\n5th annual Community Job Fair will be held today at SUNY Morrisville\u2019s Norwich\ncampus from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.    The\nparticipating organizations include CDO Workforce, GE Aviation, Hospice and\nPalliative Care of Chenango County, NBT Bank\/NBT Insurance, The State\nDepartment of Corrections, The State Veterans\u2019 Home at Oxford, Raymond\nCorporation, Springbrook & UHS Hospitals.  \n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The legal age of sale\nof tobacco products and e-cigarettes in the State of New York will be raised\nfrom 18 to 21 today.  Every day, close to\n2,500 youth under 18 try their first cigarette and more than 400 kids become\nregular daily smokers.  State lawmakers\nbelieve that New York’s new law will greatly reduce the number of high school\nstudents who have easy access to tobacco products, and the State Police will\nteam up with the State Department of Health to enforce the new law.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operation Merry\nChristmas is continuing to take calls on behalf of under-privileged families in\nthe local area, so that their children have presents under their Christmas\nTrees this year.  Spokesperson Dorene\nIreland told WCDO News that they are accepting names of children beyond the\nrecent deadline, & more trees are up in more locations this year:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delaware County\nSheriff Deputies\u2019 conducted a traffic stop on Warner Hill Road in the Town of\nMeredith.  30 year old Natasha Reed of\nTreadwell, she had a revoked Driver\u2019s License for a total of 13 revocations and\nsuspensions.
