According to the governor&#8217;s office,\nmothers may postpone jury duty service for up to two years.&nbsp; Mothers must submit a note from a physician\nwith a postponement application to postpone jury duty. The law takes into\neffect immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The State Department of Labor today released preliminary\nlocal area unemployment rates for September 2019. The State\u2019s seasonally adjusted\nunemployment rate decreased from 4.0% to 3.9% in September 2019.&nbsp; Locally Chenango County had 3.7%\nunemployment, Delaware County had 3.9% &amp; Otsego County had 3.6%\nunemployment in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Raymond Corporation\u2019s founder George Raymond Sr. was\nannounced as an inductee into the 2019 Supply Chain Hall of Fame at their\nrecent EDGE Conference in Anaheim, California.&nbsp;&nbsp;\nGeorge Raymond Sr. established the company in 1922 when he purchased a\nfoundry in Greene, 17 years later; George Raymond Sr. was granted patents for\nthe double-faced wooden pallet and the hydraulic hand pallet truck\nrevolutionizing the material handling industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contract Talks are underway for 65 Registered Nurses at\nChenango Memorial Hospital, represented by 1199SEIU, United Healthcare Workers\nEast.&nbsp; The current collective bargaining\nagreement, negotiated in 2016, is set to expire on October 31st.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;The Catholic Charities Mentoring program is\nhosting a mentor mixer on Friday November 8th at the American Legion in Sidney.\nThis event is open to the public and is for anyone who might be interested in\nlearning more about mentoring.&nbsp;&nbsp; More\ninformation is available at 604-4071 Ext. 102.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10 area Fire Departments responded to a blaze at 687\nState Highway 205 in the town of Oneonta, just north of the intersection with\nState Route 23.&nbsp; The fire was reported at\nabout 7:15 PM, 2 people were injured &amp; were taken to Fox Hospital in\nOneonta.&nbsp; The cause of the fire is under\ninvestigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Broome County District Attorney\u2019s Office announced\nthat 26 year old Tyler DeCamp of Deposit was sentenced to 10 years in prison\nand 5 years parole in Broome County Court Friday, on 2 counts of 1st-degree\nassault, tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest, for HIS ROLE IN\nTHE Johnson City McDonalds stabbings.&nbsp;&nbsp; 2\nvictims suffered multiple stab wounds each in the attack, 22 year old Dane\nEdwards was already sentenced to 4 years in prison plus 2 1\/2 parole for his\nrole in the incident, and 3 others are awaiting trial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo signed legislation requiring pharmacies to\ninform patients of Class I drug recalls made by the FDA within 7 days. Class 1\nDrugs have a high probability of causing serious adverse health consequences or\ndeath, the severity of health risks is higher for elderly patients and those\ntaking long-term medications.
