{"id":7284,"date":"2019-10-17T15:10:19","date_gmt":"2019-10-17T19:10:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=7284"},"modified":"2019-10-17T15:10:42","modified_gmt":"2019-10-17T19:10:42","slug":"wcdo-news-thursday-10-17-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-thursday-10-17-19\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS THURSDAY 10-17-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s deputies\nresponded to a 4 vehicle accident in Walton Monday.&nbsp; 19 year old Nathan Plante of Margaretville\nwas driving on State Route 10 when he veered into opposing lane to avoid\nhitting vehicles that had stopped in front of him for construction.&nbsp;&nbsp; Plante first hit a vehicle in the opposing\nlane driven by 76-year-old James Zimmerman of South Carolina, then he hit a\nvehicle stopped in his lane driven by 37-year-old Jarred Robinson of Walton,\nRobinson&#8217;s vehicle then hit a vehicle driven by 59-year-old Robin Wagner of\nTonawanda.&nbsp;&nbsp; Robinson\u2019s passenger Scott\nFitch was airlifted to Wilson Hospital for a spinal injury.&nbsp; Robinson was taken to Delaware Valley Hospital\nfor a leg injury and Plante was also taken to Delaware Valley Hospital for\npossible internal injuries.&nbsp; Plante was\nissued traffic summonses for \u201cspeed not reasonable and prudent\u201d and failure to\nkeep right, he\u2019ll appear in the town of Walton Court at a later date.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Governor Cuomo signed legislation\nprotecting patients from excessive out-of-network hospital emergency charges.\nThe new law requires health insurance companies to ensure that when enrollees\nreceive care from a non-participating provider, the patient will not incur\ngreater out-of-pocket costs than they would have incurred from a participating\nprovider.&nbsp; The bill also requires that\nhospital charges for emergency services are subject to an independent dispute\nresolution process that was established by New York&#8217;s Surprise Medical Bill\nlaw.&nbsp; The law goes into effect\nimmediately.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commerce Chenango will hold their\nannual Community Job Fair on November 13th at the Morrisville State College\nNorwich Campus from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.&nbsp;\nCommerce Chenango is currently seeking exhibitors for the annual Job\nFair. Last year over 20 businesses were on hand to meet community members\nseeking job opportunities.&nbsp; Space is\nlimited, registration is available at files.constantcontact.com<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Office\nannounced that 2 individuals were ticketed for passing stopped Sidney school\nbuses last month.&nbsp; 30 year old Jasmine\nGonzales of Sidney was ticketed for a September 19th incident, and 22 year old\nLacey Speidell, of Unadilla, was ticketed for a September 24th incident.&nbsp; Sheriff Craig DuMond stated that both\nincidents were reported by the school\u2019s transportation director to the school\nresource officer, who serves with the sheriff\u2019s office, after cameras on the\nbuses captured images of the passing vehicles and license plates.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>State Police are\nsearching John Clark of Oneonta for failing to appear in Town of Oneonta Court\nearlier this year.&nbsp;&nbsp; Clark was taken into\ncustody last May after troopers were dispatched to a domestic dispute at the\nLantern Hill Trailer Park, where he is accused of punching a victim in the\nface.&nbsp;&nbsp; Anyone who has information on\nClark\u2019s whereabouts should call State Police at 432-3211.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Otsego County District Attorney&#8217;s\noffice announced the names of the Juveniles allegedly involved in the murder of\n53 year old Kenneth Robinson of Worcester last week.&nbsp; 15 year old Dylan Robinson, the victim\u2019s son,\nhas been charged with 2nd degree Murder &amp; Robbery, along with 16 year old\nAlexander Borgreen &amp; 15 year old Anais Soto, all of Oneonta.&nbsp; 16 year old Alexis Lotterman of Walton was\ncharged with Robbery.&nbsp; 32 year old\nNicolas Meridy was charged with murder &amp; Robbery in connection with the\nRobinson Murder, he faces action in Worcester town court today.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NYSEG continues to monitor storms\nacross the state associated with a nor\u2019easter expected to impact their service areas\ntoday.&nbsp; High winds and heavy rain may\ncause service disruptions for customers.
