New York State is the 1st state to require makers of feminine\nHygiene products to list the ingredients in plain language, after a law was\nsigned recently by Governor Cuomo. The\nlaw was passed by the state legislature this year, in order to allow women who\nuse tampons or other sanitary products to be informed about possible toxic and\nallergenic chemicals used in the manufacture of the products. The law takes effect next April & it\ngives the manufacturers 18 months to develop new packaging or labels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The State DMV has added a new step in order to crack down on\nvehicles that violate federal safety requirements. The changes affect modified\nstretch limousines; 1 year after a modified Limo crashed in Schoharie &\nkilled the driver, 17 passengers & 2 people in a convenience store parking\nlot. The limo in the crash was a\nmodified 2001 Ford SUV that wasn’t properly inspected, DMV officials now\nbelieve that vehicles that carry this many passengers should be subjected to higher standards that a\ntypical family vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

State Police have arrested 5 people in connection with a\nMurder, robbery & suspected Arson at Head Road in Worcester Thursday\nnight. The deceased has been identified\nas 53 year old Kenneth Robinson of Worcester; State Police Captain Scott\nHeggelke told WCDO news what their investigation has uncovered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

32-year-old Nicolas Meridy of Oneonta has also been charged\nwith 2nd degree murder & Robbery, 4\nminors are being held, 3 for 2nd degree Murder & Robbery, 1 minor is being\nheld just on the Robbery Charge. State\nPolice said that Robinson sustained fatal gunshot wounds; the investigation is\non-going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Otsego County Health Department announced that a Bat has\ntested Positive for rabies Friday. 1\nunvaccinated cat & 2 people were exposed, the people were started on Post\nExposure treatment, and the cat is under 6 month Quarantine. The Norwich Fire Department is partnering with the American\nRed Cross as part of their, \u201cSound the Alarm,\u201d campaign to provide free smoke\ndetectors to residents of the City of Norwich this month. The organizations will deliver and install\nsmoke detectors at no cost to city residents beginning on October 26th. Red Cross representatives will go door to\ndoor to gauge interest, and then a team of volunteers from the Norwich Fire\nDepartment will install them, free of charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
