{"id":7244,"date":"2019-09-26T15:01:02","date_gmt":"2019-09-26T19:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=7244"},"modified":"2019-09-26T15:01:37","modified_gmt":"2019-09-26T19:01:37","slug":"wcdo-news-thursday-9-26-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-thursday-9-26-19\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS THURSDAY 9-26-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Police responded to a report of a male who fell\napproximately 20 to 30 feet from a ladder at a residence on Swart Hollow Road\nin the town of Oneonta Wednesday.&nbsp;&nbsp; 56\nyear old Troy Anderson of Oneonta was assisting the home owner with outside\nrepairs when he fell off the ladder.&nbsp; The\nhomeowner called 911, Anderson was transported to A.O Fox Hospital where he was\npronounced deceased.&nbsp;&nbsp; The investigation\nis on-going, but at this time no foul play was observed and it appears to be an\naccident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Police responded to a 1-car fatal crash on Klondike\nRoad in the town of Hancock on Tuesday at about 6:20 PM, following a report of\na vehicle that overturned and was on fire.&nbsp;&nbsp;\nAn investigation revealed that 69-year-old Elizabeth Rosengrant of\nFish\u2019s Eddy was operating an SUV when she went off of the shoulder of the\nroadway, overturned &amp; struck 2 trees &amp; caught on fire.&nbsp; The case remains under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Town of Guilford Board held a special meeting Wednesday\nnight &amp; they approved their Local Renewable Energy Law for the possible\ndevelopment of solar and wind energy businesses.&nbsp; Guilford town Supervisor George Senek told\nWCDO News that any construction of wind turbines by Calpine is at least 1 year\naway:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(George Senek 9-26-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Calpine Corporation has proposed a plan to build up to\n30 large Wind Turbines around the Town of Guilford up to 676 feet.&nbsp; They are exploring similar plans for up to 27\nwind turbines in the towns of Windsor &amp; Sanford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications are being accepted currently for the Leadership\nDelaware classes, which will start in October &amp; last for 16 sessions twice\na month.&nbsp; Delaware County Chamber\nPresident Ray Pucci explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Ray Pucci 9-26-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pucci said that the first session will be held on October\n9th, the application can be downloaded at\nhttp:\/\/delawarecounty.org\/about\/leadership-delaware\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chenango County Waste Management\nreminds county residents that the Latex Paint Exchange officially ends\nSeptember 30th at the North Norwich Transfer Station on State Route 12.&nbsp;&nbsp; The site is open Tuesdays through Fridays\nfrom 9:00 AM to 3:00 pm; more information is available at 337-1790.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday afternoon, Delaware County Sheriff&#8217;s Deputies,\n&amp; State Police responded to a 2 car motor vehicle accident on State Highway\n357, near Lawton Hill Road, in the Town of Franklin.&nbsp; Deputies reported that 55 year-old Robert Ray\nof Bainbridge travelled into the opposing lane &amp; struck an on-coming\nvehicle driven by 89 year-old Richard Dickson of Jensen Beach, Florida.&nbsp; The Dickson vehicle subsequently ran off the\nroadway and overturned in a ditch. Richard Dickson, and his 90-year-old\npassenger, Helen Dickson suffered minor injuries and were transported to A.O.\nFox Hospital for treatment. Deputies later issued Ray traffic summonses for\nfailure to keep right and failure to wear a seatbelt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otsego County held its 22nd annual Hazardous Waste\nCollection Day this past weekend.&nbsp; On\nFriday, Unadilla had 170 cars dropping off hazardous materials, on Saturday at\nthe Meadows Office Complex, 750 cars dropped off hazardous materials.&nbsp; 200 pounds of pharmaceuticals and medications\nwere collected for incineration, over 20,000 pounds of electronics, 240 car\nbatteries &amp; 2500 household batteries were collected, &amp; 650 gallons of\npaint was collected which will be re-mixed by Golden Artist Colors for eventual\nre-distribution to local not-for-profit agencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The United Way of Delaware and Otsego Counties will host\ntheir Kick Off Dinner for their Campaign season Tonight from 5:00pm to 8:00pm\nat J &amp;
