Voting in the state senate & Assembly on the budget bills will begin Saturday; the budget should be finalized before the April 1st<\/sup> deadline for the first time in 37 years.<\/p>\n ————————–<\/p>\n The Broome county Sheriff\u2019s department has arrested 29-year-old Megan Gismot of Binghamton, following an investigation into missing controlled substances.\u00a0 Gismot was charged with 1st<\/sup> degree falsifying business records and 3rd<\/sup> degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, she is accused of falsifying records and stealing controlled substances while working as a pharmacy technician at an area hospital.\u00a0 Gismot was arraigned & was released pending further court action.<\/p>\n —————————-<\/p>\n Court cases were heard in state courtrooms in Albany Thursday, where the decisions will determine if the state laws will usurp town laws with regards to Gas Drilling.\u00a0 Scott Kurkoski is the attorney hoping to overturn a gas-drilling ban in the town of Middlefield, he contends that those in opposition to Gas Drilling in this region are ignoring the facts:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n (Scott Kurkoski 3-22-13)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A similar case from the town of Dryden is also in the state’s appellate court, both decisions are expected in the spring.<\/p>\n —————————<\/p>\n State Troopers arrested 27 year old Rebecca Fiore <\/strong>of Harpursville for Switched Plates, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and No Insurance.
