Governor Cuomo will not go forward with the controversial\nmandatory license plate replacement plan. \nCuomo had announced that the state would introduce a new plate design\nnext year and mandate that all motorists with 10-year-old plates get new ones\nat an extra cost of $25, or $45 if you wanted to keep your current plate number. new plans are expected for new plates for\nthose with peeling old plates that don’t pass inspection, Cuomo changed his\nmind after opposition was registered form State lawmakers from both parties\n& after a Siena poll showed major opposition to the plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Norwich Assistant Superintendent of Public Works,\nGeorge Carnrike Jr., of Norwich faces 21 charges following an investigation\ninto alleged illegal dumping of waste and chemicals while working for the City\nof Norwich and falsifying documents to cover up the dumping.
