{"id":7203,"date":"2019-09-06T15:34:47","date_gmt":"2019-09-06T19:34:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=7203"},"modified":"2019-09-06T15:34:47","modified_gmt":"2019-09-06T19:34:47","slug":"wcdo-news-friday-9-6-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-friday-9-6-19\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS FRIDAY 9-6-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the arrest of\n7 people on a variety of drug charges Thursday afternoon after the execution of\na search warrant at 37 Union Street in Sidney.&nbsp;\nDeputies &amp; Investigators dismantled a large scale Methamphetamine trafficking\noperation, they arrested William McLean, Nikita Kingsbury, Trevor Light and an\nunidentified 17 year male from Sidney, plus Jeffrey Robinson of Norwich, and Kevin\nMosher &amp; Gina Overbey, who had no known address.&nbsp; Sheriff Dumond comments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Sheriff Craig Dumond 9-6-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sheriff Dumond said that the arrests followed a month long investigation;\nall were charged with 2nd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance\nthey were arraigned in Delhi Court &amp; were remanded to the Delaware County\nJail without bail pending future court action, additional charges are anticipated\n&amp; the investigation is ongoing.&nbsp;\nSidney Village Police assisted at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Police are investigating a crash in the town of\nFranklin that left 2 teenagers in serious condition. &nbsp;Troopers were dispatched Thursday afternoon at\nabout 4:30 PM to Walley Road in the town of Franklin; they located a Chevy\npick-up truck with a 17-year-old male driver and 14-year-old male passenger\ncrashed into a tree.&nbsp; The investigation\nrevealed that speed was a contributing factor when the unidentified 17-year-old\nlost control of the vehicle around a curve on Wally Road, spun off the roadway\nand into a tree.&nbsp; Both occupants were\ntransported by LifeNet to Albany Medical Center.&nbsp;&nbsp; The accident remains under\ninvestigation.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State police are investigating a sewage spill that Thursday\nafternoon at about 2:30 PM on County Route 10 near Elk Creek Road in the town\nof Meredith.&nbsp; The unidentified Driver of\nthe septic tanker was taken to Fox Hospital for evaluation, the driver rolled\nthe septic tanker, which spilled about 2,000 gallons of sewage, &amp; struck a utility\nPole, temporarily knocking out phone &amp; electric service in the east Meredith\narea.&nbsp; The septic tanker belonged to JB\u2019s\nLine Cleaning and Plumbing Service, the cause of the accident is under\ninvestigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Police responded to an early morning crash at\napproximately 4:40 AM today on State Highway 12 near Phetteplace Road in the\ntown of Norwich.&nbsp; The investigation\nrevealed that a 42-year-old male from Chittenango operating a delivery truck crossed\nover the yellow lines &amp; struck a tractor trailer head-on, the tractor trailer\nburst into flames on contact.&nbsp; The driver\nof the tractor trailer was a 45-year-old male from Lisle.&nbsp; Troopers reported that the delivery van driver\nwas transported to Wilson Memorial and later moved to Upstate Medical in\nSyracuse, sustaining non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor\ntrailer was not injured. &nbsp;&nbsp;State route 12\nwas closed for about 7 hours for the investigation &amp; clean up; the roadway\nwas re-opened shortly before noon.&nbsp; More\ninformation will be released as it is made available. The accident remains\nunder investigation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Sidney Central School District announced a change in how\nschool tax bills are collected. In the\nSouthern Tier, the First Presbyterian Church of Deposit, Built in 1880, has\nbeen recommended by the Governor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chenango County Officials announced that State Route 12\nbetween Halfway House Road in the town of Norwich &amp;
