The\nTown of Guilford board will hold a meeting tonight, following Tuesday\u2019s action\nby the Chenango County planning Department\u2019s 239 Subcommittee regarding the\ntown\u2019s Renewable Energy Law, Town Supervisor George Senek comments:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registrations\nare being accepted for the 26th Annual Pit Run in Oneonta on Sunday October\n6th.  Registration is available at pitrun.org;\nthe run is in memory of State Police Investigator Rick Parisian, who died while\ntrying to stop an armed robbery in an Oneonta Supermarket in 1994.  Money raised goes to a scholarship fund named\nafter Parisian.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor\nCuomo today signed legislation extending the driver license suspension process\nfor 2 years to further enforce child support obligations. The enforcement\nprocess allows the child support program to identify parents with a driver’s\nlicense who fail to pay child support and then notify them that their driving\nprivileges will be suspended unless child support payments are made. The bill\nwill extend the law through August 31, 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New\nYorkers who were molested or sexually abused as children will get their day in\ncourt, starting today with the ability to e-file claims.  Hundreds of lawyers representing victims\nstarting filing early this morning, with about 200 child sexual abuse lawsuits\nfiled by 6:00 AM, the number had almost doubled by 12:00 Noon.   The window to file was created by the state\nLegislature\u2019s adoption in January of the Child Victims Act, which makes it\neasier for accusers to seek criminal and civil sanction of their abusers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

State\nPolice at Binghamton responded to a 1-car motor vehicle accident on State Route\n7 in the town of Colesville Tuesday.  The\ninvestigation revealed that the vehicle operated by 29-year-old Ashley\nWolfanger of Binghamton, exited the roadway and struck at tree, killing\n32-year-old passenger Lance Weiss of Harpursville.  Weiss was pronounced deceased on the scene\nand Wolfanger was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital where she is listed\nin stable condition.   The investigation\nis on-going. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
