{"id":7141,"date":"2019-08-08T15:13:50","date_gmt":"2019-08-08T19:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=7141"},"modified":"2019-08-08T15:14:05","modified_gmt":"2019-08-08T19:14:05","slug":"wcdo-news-thursday-8-8-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-thursday-8-8-19\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS THURSDAY 8-8-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chenango County Fair continues at the Fairgrounds in\nNorwich, spokesperson Mary Weidman comments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Mary Weidman 8-8-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chenango County Fair runs through Sunday in Norwich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies arrested 33 year old\nTyler Swart of Stamford on an Arrest Warrant for Grand Larceny, following an\ninvestigation into a stolen purse in the Town of Stamford in January.&nbsp;&nbsp; Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies also\ncharged Swart with Tampering with Physical Evidence and Petty Larceny, from a\nreport of a stolen TV in the Town of Stamford in September of 2018.&nbsp; Swart was arraigned &amp; was remanded to the\nDelaware County Correctional Faculty without bail pending future court action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County District Attorney John Hubbard announced\nthat a woman, who illegally received over $137,000 in benefits, has returned\nthat money to the Department of Social Services.&nbsp; 49 year old Sheryl Arduini failed to report\nher family&#8217;s entire income &amp; received SNAP, Heap &amp; other benefits that\nshe was not entitled too.&nbsp; Hubbard said\nthat investigations led to 39 disqualifications which led to the return of over\n$507,000 in benefits being returned to the county in the last year and a half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo signed legislation, sponsored by local State\nSenator Jen Metzger, to increase health and safety standards in animal care for\nall pet dealers. The bill sets guidelines for sanitary living enclosures, food\nreceptacles, annual veterinary examinations, regular grooming, and separate\nspaces for pregnant dogs for sufficient room to nurse and care for a litter, it\nwill also require that primary enclosures for animals must be cleaned daily and\nsanitized every two weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Assemblyman Cliff Crouch announced today that the 4\nlibraries in the 122nd Assembly District have received funding through the\nState Library and State Department of Education for various construction\nprojects and improvements.
