{"id":7125,"date":"2019-07-31T15:16:25","date_gmt":"2019-07-31T19:16:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=7125"},"modified":"2019-07-31T15:16:50","modified_gmt":"2019-07-31T19:16:50","slug":"wcdo-news-wednesday-7-31-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-wednesday-7-31-19\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS WEDNESDAY 7-31-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County EMS Director Steve Hood recently made a\npresentation to the County Board of Supervisors regarding the lack of Ambulance\nservices to less populated area of the county, Hood Told WCDO News that the\nsituation has become very serious:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Steve Hood 7-31-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hood said that currently, Sidney\u2019s model of ambulance\nservice is working and is breaking even; he would like to see a regional &amp;\nconsolidated service like that covering the underserved parts of Delaware\nCounty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Delaware County Fair returns to the fairgrounds in\nWalton August 12th through the 17th, spokesman Jason Craig comments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Jason Craig 7-31-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The full schedule of events &amp; tickets are available at\nDelaware county fair.org.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ed Curley of Sidney finished his bicycle trek across the\ncountry, arriving in Saint Augustine Florida this morning, the purpose of the\ntrip was to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; he told\nWCDO News about how much was raised:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Ed Curley 7-26-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Donations in Ed\u2019s name can still be made online to\nJDRF.org.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Police responded to a crash on I-88 in the town of\nFenton Tuesday. 55 year old Douglas Peters of Amsterdam rear-ended an\nunoccupied attenuator truck that was stopped in the passing lane on Interstate\n88 just west of exit 2.&nbsp; The truck did\nhave its emergency lights and arrow stick activated.&nbsp; The operator of the attenuator truck was collecting\nsignage and not in a work zone.&nbsp; Peters\nwas ejected after his vehicle struck the concrete barrier, he was transported\nto Wilson Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition, he was ticketed for\nFailure to Exercise Due Care When Passing a Stopped, Standing or Parked Hazard\nVehicle and not wearing a Safety Belt.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies arrested 31-year-old John\nMahler of Walton Tuesday for obstructing government administration and harassment.&nbsp; Mahler is accused of intentionally\ninterfering with a Walton Fire Department investigation into a report of a tree\non utility wires in the Village of Walton; he was arraigned in Walton Village\nCourt and was released on his own recognizance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo today signed legislation limiting an\neducational institution&#8217;s ability to authorize any person who is not primarily\nemployed as a school resource officer, law enforcement officer or security\nguard to carry a firearm on school grounds.
