{"id":7111,"date":"2019-07-24T15:09:41","date_gmt":"2019-07-24T19:09:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=7111"},"modified":"2019-07-24T15:10:14","modified_gmt":"2019-07-24T19:10:14","slug":"wcdo-news-wednesday-7-24-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-wednesday-7-24-19\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS WEDNESDAY 7-24-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Delaware County Sheriff&#8217;s Office is continuing their\ninvestigation into the disappearance of 51 year old Byron Furman of Sidney, who\nwas last seen at his Lawton Hill Road residence on Wednesday night, June\n26th.&nbsp;&nbsp; Furman was last known to be\nwearing light tan shorts and a light gray t-shirt, he is 5\u201911\u201d, 250 pounds with\ngray hair and brown eyes, and he is believed to have walked from his residence\nand may be in need of medication.&nbsp; A\nsearch of the Lawton Hill Road area conducted earlier this month by Delaware\nCounty Sheriff&#8217;s Deputies, State Forest Rangers and State Police failed to\nreveal any information on Furman&#8217;s whereabouts.&nbsp;\nAnyone with information on Furman should contact the Delaware County\nSheriff&#8217;s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 832-5599.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Public Health announced today that a bat has\ntested positive for rabies in the Town of Franklin. This is the 3rd rabid\nanimal in Delaware County this year, officials said that 2 people and were\nexposed to the rabies virus, and are being treated for rabies post exposure\nprophylaxis. No animals were exposed.&nbsp; To\nreport a suspected rabid animal, residents can call Delaware County Public\nHealth Services at 832-5200; more information about rabies is available at\ndelawarecountypublichealth.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo signed legislation creating a temporary state\ncommission to study and investigate how to regulate artificial intelligence,\nrobotics and automation. The New York State Artificial Intelligence, Robotics\nand Automation Commission will look at the latest uses and impacts of these\ntechnologies.&nbsp; The commission will\nexamine how artificial intelligence, robotics and automation affects employment\nin New York State, how it can acquire and disclose personal information, &amp;\nhow it may be used in unlawful or unsafe ways the commission will issue a final\nreport with its findings and recommendations to the Governor and legislative\nleaders.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">35 year old Kelli Johnson of the town of Plymouth was\nindicted for criminal possession of a controlled substance &amp; endangering\nthe welfare of a child.&nbsp; Johnson was\narrested June 25 by the Chenango County Sheriff&#8217;s Department she is accused of\npossessing methamphetamines with intent to sell, in the presence of a child\nunder the age of 17.&nbsp; Johnson faces\nadditional court action in Chenango County Court shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">21-year old Brandon Clark of Cicero has been indicted by an\nOneida County grand jury on a charge of 2nd-degree murder, for the murder of 17\nyear old Bianca Devins of Utica, on July 14th.&nbsp;\nClark is accused of killing Devins &amp; posting the pictures online,\nUtica Police were alerted &amp; Clark was located &amp; arrested.&nbsp; Clark is being held in the Oneida County Jail\nwithout bail pending arraignment on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">21 year old Skuyler Reynolds of Chenango Bridge has been\narrested in connection with a series of area church burglaries.&nbsp; Reynolds was arrested by Binghamton Police\nfor 3rd degree Burglary, 3rd Degree Grand Larceny following a recent break-in\nat a Presbyterian church in Binghamton.&nbsp;\nPolice are continuing to investigate if Reynolds participated in other\nChurch burglaries in Johnson City, Chenango Bridge and Port Crane has been\nunder investigation by law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Red Cross is assisting a family of 7 that were displaced\nin a family at their home on Hathaway Road in the town of Laurens Tuesday\nmorning. The Red Cross officials said that the family consists of 2 adults\n&amp; 5 children ages 10 to 15, &amp; they are accepting donations.&nbsp; The cause of the fire is under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig announced the re-opening of the\nMarket Street entrance to Neahwa Park today.&nbsp;\nThe city had closed that entrance Sunday &amp; they had planned to\nconduct a study to see if it was possible to close that entrance to vehicular\ntraffic &amp; institute other improvements for pedestrians &amp; bicycles.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An American Red Cross Blood drive is being held in Sidney\ntoday.&nbsp; The Blood Drive will be from 1:30\nto 6:30 PM at the A.O.
