Governor Cuomo announced that\nlane closures for road and bridge construction projects on State highways are\nsuspended until 6:00 AM Monday morning to accommodate travelers during the busy\nIndependence Day holiday weekend. Some\nwork may continue behind permanent concrete barriers or for emergency\nrepairs. Motorists are also urged to\nfollow the state’s Move Over Law, which requires motorists to slow down and\nsafely move over for law enforcement vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, tow\ntrucks and construction or maintenance vehicles that are stopped along the side\nof the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s still time to enroll\nchildren in Chenango Arts Councils Kids Summer Art Camp to be held at the\nCouncil’s location at 27 West Main Street, Norwich. The Chenango Arts Council’s Kids Summer Art\nCamp runs for two weeks from July 29th through August 9th 2019, from 9:30 am to\n2 pm, with a break from 11:30 am to 12 noon for lunch. Governor Cuomo today announced\nmore than 300,000 New Yorkers have received training through the Citizen\nPreparedness Corps, since the program started in 2014. the Citizen’s Preparedness Corps provides the\ntools and resources necessary for preparing New Yorkers for any type of\ndisaster so they respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to\npre-disaster conditions. Trainings are\nconducted by the New York National Guard, working with experts from the\nDivision of Homeland Security and Emergency Services’ Office of Emergency\nManagement and Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Volunteers from the\nAmerican Red Cross also teach courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
