State Police are continuing with the investigation into the 2 shootings in Mohawk & Herkimer last week, by 64-year-old Kurt Meyers of Mohawk.\u00a0 Police stated that Meyers\u00a0 was broke, \u00a0\u00a0unemployed since 2006, yet they have no motive of why Meyers targeted John\u2019s Barbershop in Mohawk & Gaffee\u2019s Car Wash in Herkimer last Wednesday, killing 4 & injuring 2 others, before he died in a shootout with police in an abandoned Herkimer bar.\u00a0 \u00a0The Funerals for Michael Ransear and Harold Montgomery took place on Monday, while services for . Thomas Stefka and Michael Renshaw, will be later in the week.\u00a0 the 2 survivors from the Mohawk shooting, Dan Haslauer and John Seymour, remain hospitalized Monday.\u00a0 Police are asking anyone with information on Meyers to call them at\u00a0 315-866-7275.<\/p>\n

Budget negotiations have slowed down today, as a few items are being brought into the final budget document, that have little to do with the budget itself, according to area assemblyman Bill Magee:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Magee said that if the budget is passed next Monday or Tuesday, it will still be the third year in a row where a timely budget is passed, which has not occurred since the early 80\u2019s.<\/p>\n
