A State Trooper was injured Sunday night following a traffic\nstop on Route 41 in Afton. The trooper\nattempted to pull over a motorist, who did not comply and drove away until\ncrashing in the area of Loomis Road; he then took off on foot. The unidentified trooper caught up to the\nsuspect, the trooper received minor injuries following a scuffle, and the\ndriver of the car was bit by a police dog. \nThe driver was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, criminal\npossession of a controlled substance & several other charges, more details\nare expected to be released shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afton Firefighters responded this morning to a fire at 191\nHall Road. No one was home when the fire\nbroke out, Firefighters from Coventry, Bainbridge & Harpursville assisted,\nthe home was completely destroyed, and the cause of the fire is under\ninvestigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 people were arrested following a drug rain on a house in\nBinghamton Friday. Police seized\nfentanyl, drug packaging materials & scales, at 48 Tompkins Street on the\ncity’s South Side. Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies arrested Richard Williams\nof Downsville, Saturday for Menacing and criminal trespass, for allegedly\nentering a residence illegally in the Town of Colchester and, after exiting,\nmenacing another person with a dangerous instrument. Williams was arraigned in\nthe Village of Walton Court and was released on his own recognizance. Williams\nis scheduled to appear at Colchester Town Court at a later date to answer the\ncharges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Broome County Sheriff\u2019s Office responded\nto a report of a motor vehicle accident involving an SUV and a bicycle on State\nRoute 369 in the Town of Fenton just after 10:00 PM Saturday night, the driver\nof the SUV left the scene, a State Trooper located the vehicle, disabled, about\na mile north of the collision. \nGincerowski was located at a nearby residence and was taken into custody.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n ——————————————<\/p>\n\n\n\n Delaware County Public Health announced that a skunk in the\ntown of Andes has tested positive for rabies. \nThe rabid skunk exposed 4 dogs and 1 person. The person exposed to the rabid skunk is\nreceiving rabies post exposure prophylaxis. Two of the four dogs were up to\ndate on their rabies vaccinations and received boosters after the\nexposure. Public Health is working with\nthe dog owner and Town of Andes officials to implement 6-month quarantine on\nthe 2 dogs that were not up to date on their rabies vaccinations.
