The State Senate Followed the State Assembly & passed\nthe controversial “Green Light Bill” Monday, which will allow for\nundocumented immigrants to acquire a New York State Driver’s License. The bill calls for protections against\nfederal government interference & harassment of those immigrants that earn\na New York Driver’s license, Governor Cuomo signed the bill after the state\nSolicitor General’s office verified the constitutionality of the protections\nand the bill as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Brower was sentenced in Chenango County Court Monday\nto 1 1\/2 to 4 1\/2 years in prison after a guilty plea of hindering prosecution\nin connection with the death of 11 year old Jacelyn O\u2019Connor in the town of\nNorwich 2 years ago. Tobias Rundstrom Wooding\nwas sentenced to 20 years in prison last year, for the raping and killing\nO\u2019Connor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Endicott Police announced that 77 year old Russell Darrow of\nBrackney, Pennsylvania man was the pilot that was killed in a single engine\nplane that crashed at Tri-Cities Airport in Endicott Monday. Darrow crashed his single propeller plane on\nthe Norfolk Southern Railroad property between Industrial Park Boulevard and\nAirport Road in Endicott at about 11:20 AM Monday. Darrow was pronounced dead at the scene.\nThere was no one else in the aircraft. \nThe cause of the crash is being investigated by the National\nTransportation Safety Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Cuomo announced the New York State Thruway\nAuthority Board approved the selection of the Design-Build team who will\ninstall cashless tolling on the Thruway system. \nThe $355.3 million investment will transform the Thruway system for\nabout 267 million motorists who travel the superhighway every year. State Police at Oneonta arrested 25 year old Phillip Davis\nof Strasburg, Virginia Sunday, for 2 counts of the felony of Criminal\nPossession of a Firearm. A trooper\nresponded to an accident involving a motorcycle on I-88 in the town of\nWorcester, Davis told the trooper that when a tractor trailer passed him, he lost\ncontrol of his Harley, he was uninjured, it was discovered that Davis was in\npossession of 2 guns illegally in the rear storage area of his motorcycle, Davis\ndid not possess a pistol permit. He was\narrested and arraigned in the town of Worcester court where he was remanded to\nthe Otsego County Jail on $2000 cash bail or $4000 bond. Davis will appear in court on July 2nd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies arrested 47 year old John\nLafever of Unadilla with DWI, making an unsafe lane change, and operating a\nmotor vehicle while using mobile device, following a 1 car accident on County\nRoute 23 in the Town of Walton. Lafever was released on appearance tickets and\nit set to appear in the Town of Walton Court at a later date to answer the\ncharge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
