Greater Chenango Cares is a Department\nof Defense Innovative Readiness Training event. It gives joint training\nopportunities to reservists to increase their deployment readiness while also\nproviding free medical, dental, vision and veterinary services to the\ncommunity.&nbsp; This year&#8217;s Chenango Cares\nwill be held at Norwich High School from July 11th through the 20th. &nbsp;&nbsp;The Chenango United Way is looking for\nvolunteers for the event; those interested can call 334-8815.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Norwich city officials are monitoring the situation at 33\nMitchell Street, after part of a wall at the building fell to the ground\nWednesday. &nbsp;All tenants were evacuated\n&amp; city officials blocked off the intersection of Mitchell &amp; State Street\nwhile they try to determine of the 1855 building can be safely repaired, or\nneeds to be razed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Scripps National Spelling Bee had to name 8 champions\nyesterday, after the 8 winners continued to spell words correctly round after\nround after round.&nbsp; Organizers said that\nthey ran out of difficult words to give to the last 8, Scripps officials gave\nup and declared them all co-champions, each will win the $50,000 grand\nprize.&nbsp; Melodie Loya of Bainbridge made\nit to the final day for the 3rd straight year, before being stumped during an\nafternoon round Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo today announced\nthe application window is now open for round one of the Grow-NY food and\nagriculture competition. The competition is focused on growing an enduring food\nand agriculture innovation cluster in New York&#8217;s Finger Lakes, Central New York\nand Southern Tier regions. Fox Hospital is offering a program this summer for\nindividuals interested in becoming junior volunteers, to offer a helping hand\nto hospitalized patients, nursing home residents, and staff in a multitude of\ncapacities.&nbsp; Training for accepted\napplicants is scheduled for Monday, July 1st&nbsp;\nfrom 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 PM in Fox Hospital\u2019s Education Department.&nbsp; Applicants must be at least 14 years of age\n&amp; applications are available in the guidance offices of area high\nschools,&nbsp; all applications are due by\nJune 18th .
