{"id":6986,"date":"2019-05-20T14:10:07","date_gmt":"2019-05-20T18:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=6986"},"modified":"2019-05-20T14:19:40","modified_gmt":"2019-05-20T18:19:40","slug":"wcdo-news-monday-5-20-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-monday-5-20-19\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS MONDAY 5-20-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Curtis Cuttino &amp; Michael McVicker of York Pennsylvania\nwere indicted Friday by a Tioga County grand jury on a variety of felony charges,\nin connection with the fatal shooting of Brian Argro in his Apalachin Home May\n9th.&nbsp; Cuttino has been indicted for 1st\n&amp; 2nd degree murder, 1st-degree burglary, 2nd-degree kidnapping and\nCriminal possession of a weapon;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nMcVicker was indicted for 2nd degree murder, 1st-degree burglary,\n2nd-degree kidnapping and criminal possession of a weapon.&nbsp;&nbsp; Both men are being held without bail pending\nadditional court action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">School Budget Votes will be held state wide tomorrow.&nbsp; Locally, Sidney &amp; Schenevus school\ndistrict budget decreased their spending from last year, most have had slight\nto mild increases, local districts are close to 2% Property Tax Cap.&nbsp; Capital Projects will be voted on by voters\nin Sidney, Unatego &amp; Afton tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Afton Central School District is asking for approval\ntomorrow on a capital project, Superintendent Tim McNamara comments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Tim McNamara 5-20-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">McNamara said that state aid &amp; the capital reserve fund\nwill cover the cost of the project, meaning that there will be no additional\nburden on tax payers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">30 year old Christopher Bonno has been charged with 4th\ndegree arson, 3rd degree Burglary &amp; resisting arrest following the report\nof a barn fire at 3973 State Highway 23 in the town of Plymouth at about 8:00\nPM Saturday night.&nbsp; Smoldering hay was\nextinguished, no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic\nPreservation is hiring more than 1,000 new and returning lifeguards for the\nsummer season at its swimming beaches and pools.&nbsp; New York State Park lifeguards must meet\ncertain eligibility criteria, which includes successfully completing the\nqualifying procedure, before being hired.
