Ernest Franklin of Mount Upton is seeking a retrial, after\nbeing found guilty of murdering his special needs stepson Jeffrey, and setting\nfire to the family residence to cover up the murder. Franklin was due to be sentenced in Chenango\nCounty for the murder arson & tampering with physical evidence charges when\nthe motion for a retrial was filed. \nErnest Franklin’s wife Heather pleaded guilty to manslaughter, arson and\nevidence tampering for her role in the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
