a yearly\ncampaign to raise awareness of the dangers of reckless driving in work\nzones.&nbsp; This year&#8217;s enforcement efforts\ntook place from April 22 to April 26th; Police wrote 411 tickets statewide for\nviolating the Move Over Law, over 5200 for Speeding, 683 for speeding in a work\nzone and 579 for distracted driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Afton central School district will be holding a 2nd\npublic informational meeting on their proposed Capital Project on May\n16th.&nbsp; District Superintendent Tim\nMcNamara said that the project will not raise taxes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Tim McNamara 5-6-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Project will be voted on by Afton District residents on\nMay 21st from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Afton School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">May 5 to May 11, 2019, is National Small Business Week.\nSince 1963 this week has been designated to recognize the impact of America&#8217;s\nentrepreneurs and small businesses.&nbsp;\nSteve Craig of Commerce Chenango comments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Steve Craig 5-6-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Statistics show that small businesses create two out of\nevery three net new jobs in the private sector &amp; Roupp was stopped on State\nHighway 10 in the Town of Walton, she was arrested &amp; was arraigned in\nHamden Town Court and is scheduled to appear at Walton Town Court at a later\ndate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chenango County Sheriff\u2019s deputies, State Police &amp;\nVillage of Greene responded to the report of a suspicious death Friday evening\nin Smithville Flats.&nbsp; The victim has been\nidentified as 16-year-old Amelia Wakefield of Oxford, after authorities\nresponded to a Water Street residence at about 6:50 PM Friday.&nbsp; Wakefield was removed &amp; was brought to\nLourdes\u2019 Hospital in Binghamton for an autopsy.&nbsp;\nOxford Academy officials announced that the School\u2019s Crisis Team was\navailable for students today; the investigation in Wakefield\u2019s death is\nongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">117 packages of fentanyl and 35 packages of crack cocaine\nwere seized by the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force during\na search warrant in Binghamton Friday.&nbsp;\n34 year old Sean Dingle was charged with several counts of Criminal\npossession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, Dingle is being held\nat the Binghamton Police Department until he can be arraigned in Binghamton\nCity Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Police arrested 25 year old John Clark of Oneonta for\nAssault &amp; Resisting Arrest after Troopers were dispatched to a dispute at\nthe Lantern Hill Trailer Park.&nbsp; Clark is\naccused of punching a person in the face.&nbsp;\nTroopers located Clark hiding in the residence, He was found to have\nactive warrants in the town of Morris and the city of Oneonta.&nbsp;&nbsp; Clark was arraigned in the town of Oneonta\nCourt and remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond\npending court action on June 6th&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Sidney Central School District is now registering\nchildren for their September 2019 kindergarten class.&nbsp; Parents should call 561-7728 to set up an\nappointment to register their child, who must be 5 years old on or before\nDecember 1<sup>st<\/sup> in order to be eligible for kindergarten this\nSeptember. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Village of Sidney Spring Brush &amp;
