39 year old Jason Phoenix of Walton was arrested by State\nTroopers for DWI with a BAC that was almost twice the legal limit. Phoenix was stopped during a road check on\nLower Main Street in the town of Oneonta, Phoenix was arrested, and he was ordered\nto appear in the town of Oneonta court on May 7th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oneonta police arrested Gabriel Truitt Tuesday afternoon; he\nwas recently indicted on charges of arson and murder in connection with a\nDecember 29th fire at 5 Walling Avenue that claimed the life of former\nfirefighter John Heller. Oneonta Police\nobtained a search warrant for Truitt’s Sister in Law residence, right next door\nto the Police Station at 95 Main Street, he was found hiding in the basement,\nand was taken into custody without incident. \nTruitt was taken to the Otsego County jail, he faces arraignment this\nmorning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Cuomo announced that the State Budget includes\nmeasures to prevent STAR fraud and abuse, including a 6-year ban during which\nthose found to have knowingly provided false information on a STAR credit\napplication will be barred from receiving benefits. In 2013, Governor Cuomo enacted reforms to\nthe STAR exemption program to crack down on delinquent taxpayers, in 2015; the\nNYS Tax Department was authorized to recoup STAR benefits from property owners who\nunlawfully received those benefits in past years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

State Police arrested 27 year old Danielle Scott of Sidney\nfor DWI, Unreasonable Speed and Moving from A Lane Unsafely, after a trooper\nwas dispatched to County Road 35 in the town of Masonville for a vehicle\nrollover. The trooper located Scott with\nEmergency Medical Personnel but she declined medical assistance. After an investigation, she was arrested for\nDWI. She was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to the\ntown of Masonville court on May 28th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
