Governor Cuomo announced the\nState Budget includes $100 million for the 4th round of the Downtown\nRevitalization Initiative, to support 10 additional downtown neighborhoods, 1\nin each region of the state. State Police arrested 35 year\nold Benjamin Bishop of Otselic for Criminal Contempt, 2nd degree Burglary,\n& 2 counts of Criminal Mischief, after Troopers were dispatched to a\ndomestic dispute on April 12th in the town of Pitcher. Bishop is accused of damaging several\nvehicles, and trying to break into a residence, the victim left through a fire\nescape. Troopers discovered there was an\nactive Order of Protection against Bishop on behalf of the victim. Bishop fled before troopers arrived but he\nwas located on April 15th and arrested, arraigned & was remanded to the\nChenango County jail on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

State Police arrested 62 year\nold Renee Rountree of Unadilla for Menacing, Criminal Mischief & Falsely\nReporting an Incident. Troopers were\ndispatched to a residence on Lockwood Hill Road in Unadilla, when troopers\narrived, they learned that Rountree falsely reported the harassment, menaced a\nvictim and slashed the victim\u2019s tires. \nRountree was arrested and later released on appearance tickets\nreturnable to the town of Unadilla court on Monday April 22nd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s\nDeputies arrested 24-year-old Christopher Shea of Altamont, Wednesday for\nAggravated Unlicensed Operation following a traffic stop on Main Street in the\nVillage of Delhi. Shea was additionally issued tickets for Unlicensed Operator,\nand Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, he was released on an appearance ticket and\nis scheduled to return to the Delhi Town Court at a later date to answer the\ncharges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Otsego County District Attorney\u2019s office announced that\nGabriel Truitt has been indicted for 1st & 2nd degree murder & 1st\ndegree Arson in connection with the fire at 5 Walling Avenue in Oneonta last\nDecember that killed former Oneonta fire fighter John Heller. Truitt\u2019s brother, Terrence was previously\ncharged in the case, he was released after 5 weeks into the investigation due\nto a lack of evidence against him. \nGabriel Truitt is still at large; The Oneonta Police Department is\nissuing a warrant for his arrest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The annual springtime turkey hunting weekend for young\nhunters is this weekend in New York State. \nLicensed hunters 12 to 15 years old are eligible for the special 2-day\nhunt this weekend; they must have a turkey permit and must be accompanied by a\nparent or other adult with written permission from a parent or guardian.
