Jury selection began today in Chenango County Court & the trial of Heather Franklin is expected to begin tomorrow.\u00a0 Franklin is accused of planning the murder of her son Jeffrey Franklin with her Husband Ernest Franklin, and covering up the crime by setting the family house on fire in the town of Guilford in March of 2017.\u00a0 Ernest Franklin was found guilty by a jury last month for his role in the crime; he faces sentencing at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies arrested 36 Year old\nPhilip Albergo of Meredith for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor\nVehicle, and Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Required Ignition Interlock\nDevice. Albergo is accused of operating a motor vehicle in the Town of Roxbury\nwhile having a revoked driver\u2019s license due to a failure to submit to a\nchemical test. Albergo was being held in the Delaware County Correctional\nFacility on an unrelated charge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson City Police Department identified 50 year old\nShakeel Khan of Johnson City as the victim in the Saturday shooting homicide in\nthe parking lot of his “Halal Bites” restaurant at Grand Avenue and\nRiverside Drive. Khan was later\npronounced dead at Wilson Hospital; Police are looking for a male suspect who\nwas wearing dark clothing and a dark mask over his face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York will become the next\nstate to rise the legal age for buying cigarettes and e-cigarettes from 18 to\n21.
