{"id":6804,"date":"2019-02-20T14:47:18","date_gmt":"2019-02-20T19:47:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/?p=6804"},"modified":"2019-02-20T15:03:33","modified_gmt":"2019-02-20T20:03:33","slug":"wcdo-news-wednesday-2-20-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wcdoonline.com\/localnews\/wcdo-news-wednesday-2-20-19\/","title":{"rendered":"WCDO NEWS WEDNESDAY 2-20-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Police Were dispatched to break up a fight between 2 men on I-88 when the two turned on the trooper and began attacking him.\u00a0 Other troopers came to assist and a second trooper sustained injury.\u00a0\u00a0 The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon in Worcester; the 2 males have been identified as 65 year old Gary Lubrano &amp; his 34 year old son Michael Lubrano of Cobleskill.\u00a0 \u00a0During the physical assault, the trooper sustained injuries to his jaw and lip, back up responded both suspects continued to fail to comply with Police, when a K9 handler arrived and the Police dog bit Gary Lubrano.\u00a0 The struggle continued &amp; a 2<sup>nd<\/sup> trooper was injured, suffering from a broken hand. \u00a0Both Lubrano\u2019s were transported to Bassett Hospital, they were treated and released &amp; were charged with assaulting a police officer &amp; resisting arrest, they were arraigned in the town of Otsego Court Michael Lubrano was additionally charged with DWI.\u00a0 Both were remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $75,000 property bond.\u00a0 The injured troopers were transported to local hospitals and released; it is unknown when they will return to duty.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">==============================================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Organizers at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts announced that plans for a 3-day musical event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock festival at that site, have changed.\u00a0 Plans now call for an Anniversary Week with a series of concerts &amp; events, kicking off on August 15th with a screening of the 1970 documentary \u201cWoodstock\u201d, followed by an August 16th concert headlined by Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band, along with Arlo Guthrie and Edgar Winter.\u00a0 Santana will headline a show August 17th with The Doobie Brothers. More events will be announced soon.\u00a0\u00a0 Another 50th anniversary celebration of the 1969 Woodstock festival will take place August 16th to August 18th Watkins Glen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Otsego County Sheriff&#8217;s Department arrested 53 year\nRobert Braun of Otego, following an investigation into 4 separate accidents\nfrom Oneonta to Otego on February 13th.&nbsp;\nBraun faces a number of charges including DWI; he faces court action in\nboth localities shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Saturday, February 17th, Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s\nDeputies arrested 50-year-old Clara Moore of Bainbridge, on a charge of\nAggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle following a traffic stop on\nin the Village of Sidney. Moore was also issued tickets for Unsafe Tire,\nUnlicensed Operator, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Notify DMV of\nAddress Change. Moore was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to\nreturn to the Village of Sidney Court at a later date to answer the charges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo today announced that $23.6 million in\ninfrastructure funding has been awarded to support safety enhancements,\nmodernization of facilities, operational improvements and local business development\nat 31 airports statewide. The projects are funded through the Governor&#8217;s State\nAviation Capital Grant Program initiative, locally, $828,000 will go to upgrade\nand modernize the aircraft fuel facility at the Greater Binghamton Regional\nAirport in Broome County<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Sheriff Deputies\u2019 arrested 24 year old\nRebecca Allen of Monticello on an Arrest Warrant issued by the Town of Hancock\nCourt. Allen was charged with Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Grand Larceny &amp;\nPetty Larceny; she is accused of stealing personal property of another person\nin an amount exceeding $1,000 in July of 2018.&nbsp;\nAllen was arranged in the Town of Hancock Court where she was remanded\nto the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Oneonta Common Council approved of a contract at their\nlatest meeting with the Wendel consulting group, to design a downtown transit\nhub.&nbsp; The city was awarded $3.8 million\nby the State Department of Transportation for the construction of the transit\nhub, to be located on Market Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s\nDeputies arrested 32-year-old Joseph Evans of Davenport, on 1 count of\nEndangering the Welfare of a Child, following an investigation of a report of\nchild abuse in the Town of Davenport.&nbsp;\nDeputies allege that Evans acted in a manner which was injurious to the\nphysical, mental, and moral welfare of a child less than 17-years-old.&nbsp; Evans was arraigned &amp; was remanded to the\nDelaware County Correctional on $5,000 cash bail, or $10,000 bond, pending\nfuture court action. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Town of Columbus resident was arrested by the Chenango\nCounty Sheriff\u2019s Office for 1st degree Rape &amp; 2nd degree Menacing.&nbsp; Sheriff\u2019s Detectives arrested 20 year old\nLukest Wahlberg following an investigation into an alleged rape complaint.\nWahlberg is accused of forcibly holding down a female victim on 2 separate\noccasions and raping her. On a separate day Wahlberg allegedly held a knife to\nthe female victim\u2019s neck. Wahlberg was arraigned in the Town of North Norwich\nCourt where he was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on\n$25,000 cash bail.
