During each exercise, counter terrorism\nexperts from state and local agencies go undercover as customers and assess the\nability of businesses to recognize and report suspicious activity.\nAdditionally, the Division also partnered with federal, state, and local law\nenforcement for &#8220;Operation NY-SECURE&#8221; which involved the completion\nof 20 counter terrorism and incident response exercises at rail stations\nthroughout the state.&nbsp; This year, the\nOffice of Counter Terrorism partnered with more than 400 law enforcement\npersonnel from over 100 agencies statewide to conduct exercises in every\ncounty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Cuomo is calling for public hearings on the issue\nof Legalizing recreational marijuana use in New York State, local assemblyman\nCliff Crouch comments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Cliff Crouch 2-11-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Colorado had a large uptick in motor vehicle fatalities from\ndrivers under the influence after passing legislation for recreational\nMarijuana usage; they also experienced a large amount of revenue on the tax\ncollected from selling marijuana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;- <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Help Restore Hope Center provides services for victims\nof domestic violence and sexual assault in Chenango County.&nbsp; Clinical Program Supervisor Patricia Pardy\nexplained the program at WCDO this morning:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Patricia Pardy 2-11-19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 24 Hour Hotline is 855-9-NOWSAFE; they also have a\nwebsite with information at helprestorehopecenter.org.&nbsp; A fundraiser for the program is being held\nthis afternoon at Gilligan\u2019s Ice Cream in Sherburne from 4:00 to 8:00 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U.S. Marshals are on the lookout\nfor Leroy Headley of Vermont, who is wanted for the murder of his spouse,\nsexual assault of a child &amp; unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.&nbsp; Headley could have travelled through upstate\ncounties, he could be living under an alias, and he may have shaved his head or\notherwise changed his appearance, and should be considered armed and\ndangerous.&nbsp; U.S. Marshals are offering a\nreward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Headley\u2019s arrest.&nbsp; Anyone with information is asked to contact\nthe U.S. Marshal Service at (202) 307-9100 or through their tipline at\n1-877-WANTED-2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">28 year old Devan Ellsworth pleaded guilty to 2nd degree\nmanslaughter Friday in Chenango County, for causing the death of his infant\ndaughter.&nbsp; Ellsworth will serve at least\n3 1\/2 years in jail in a plea agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">30 year old Shakia Crute of Johnson City was charged Friday\nwith 2nd Degree manslaughter in connection with the death of her son Jerome\nSmith February 2nd. Crute was arraigned in Johnson City Village Court and sent\nto the Broome County jail pending future court action.&nbsp;&nbsp; Broome County District Attorney Steve\nCornwell said that Crute is accused of acting recklessly in causing her son&#8217;s\ndeath in Johnson City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 Binghamton firefighter was injured &amp; 1 person was\nkilled in a fire Saturday morning at 109 Walnut Street in Binghamton.
