The investigation continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Broome County Sheriff\u2019s Deputy Kristy Botsford was released\nfrom Wilson Hospital, after surviving a head on crash while on duty last Friday\nin Vestal.&nbsp; Botsford was struck head on\nin her patrol vehicle, responding to a report of a driver going in the wrong\ndirection on State Route 17.&nbsp; Botsford\nsuffered a broken Femur in her right leg &amp; for a time was listed in\nCritical condition, 34 year old Daniel Butash of Endicott is facing a number of\ncharges including DWI in connection with that incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Community Foundation for South Central New York\nannounced a grant opportunity for organizations serving Walton.&nbsp; The Paul and Miriam Mattern Fund is now\naccepting applications to enrich the cultural life and social well-being of\nresidents of the village and township of Walton, Applicants will be able to\ncomplete and submit their applications to the Community Foundation on-line.
